Ariel stepped out onto the porch of the cabin. The porch like the cabin has been constructed of timber from trees harvested on the property. The porch was wide enough to hold a table and chair set, a barbecue grill with plenty of room left over for a game of tag.

The cabin sat on the side of a hill, the forest below was thick with trees. There were two deer in Ariel’s line of sight. Such a few used to cause her to smile and wave at the graceful wildlife. Smiles had become a dim distant memory over the past two weeks.

Ariel shared the cabin with her girlfriend Marni they had been partners for the last six years. Last month, on a very special night, Marni barbecued a couple of nice ribeyes, set the table, with the nice dished, polished silverware and cloth napkins. And two glasses of merlot. This was how they celebrated every Saturday night. They called it ‘date night.’

As they sat at their porch table, Marni attempted to hide a mischievous smile. Ariel sensed something might be up. Maybe it might be some new play toys for when they retired to the bedroom for their after dinner dessert.

With dinner finished Ariel got up to clear the table, Marni motioned to her to sit down. Then she grasped Ariel’s hands and said. “Ariel, will you be my forever girl, while open a small box exposing a solitaire diamond ring.

Ariel couldn’t get the word out, though the shaking of her head and bright smile gave away her answer. Then Marni gave her a red rose to make it all offficial. This was the most beautiful moment of both their lives.

On this night, there were no tears of joy, there were no tears at all. Ariel’s tear ducts were empty, exhausted from all the crying she had done over the past two weeks.

She looked out over the valley below, her voice crack with barely a whisper.

“Marni, where are you?”

A hand reached up and rubbed Ariel’s shoulder. It was Beth, her second best friend. She was staying with Ariel as Marni was also her dear friend.

Two weeks ago Marni left on a business trip and planned to be back in two days. When they kissed goodbye at the airport was the she or anyone else saw or heard from Marni. When she didn’t return as planned Ariel had the first of many panic attacks. She called Marni’s mom, her sister, all their friends no one had any idea where Marni had gone.

* * *

The next morning, after another night of not sleeping, Ariel logged in to check her email. Specifically to check for any updates from the Sheriff’s office. There had been no leads since she had filed the missing person’s report. There was nothing from the Sheriff in her inbox. There was one other email, that looked like spam because she was not familiar with the name of the sender. Against normal instincts she opened the email which began;

“I place a shiny emerald in your navel and then I kissed your hand.”

“Marni!” It had to be Marni it was clear in Ariel’s mind. That was their secret phase. They had made a pact over. They promised each other to never tell another soul. It was their safe phrase. I was how they would always know the message was coming from their partner.

The letter continued,

My sweet eternal love Ariel,

I am so sorry it is taking me so long to you. There was no Internet service until this morning. First I am doing ok, except for missing so much. I want so badly to hug you and never let you go. I found something so amazing, so beautiful and I need to share it with you. Please come as soon as you can! I have attached a map with the location.

I love you with infinite joy in my heart,

Marni

Beth was in the kitchen making coffee.

“Beth!!! Come here I found Marni!!”

Ariel showed Beth the email. Beth was skeptical, rereading the email twice.

“How do you know this is from Marni, why is it not from her email address?”

“I know its her, no doubt, she used our secret phase, look.”

“That’s your secret phase? It does sound like you two I’ll it.”

“And look, she attached a map, let’s go right now.” Ariel was busting at the seems.

Beth studied the map. “That’s a full day of driving, maybe more, we need to plan this out.”

“I don’t care how far it is. If Marni was on the moon I’d fly to Florida and hijack a rocket in order to see her.”

* * *

The drive had taken much longer than either of them expected.nThey had wound their way up a steep mountain , then down again, descending in darkness along a narrow, twisting road that tested even Beth’s nerves. She gripped the steering wheel with white-knuckled care, easing the car around each blind corner.

By the time they pulled off the highway onto a dirt road, little more than a single, rutted track, the first faint blush of sunrise had begun to creep over the horizon.

There were few trees here, only broad fields of wild grass rippling in the cool morning breeze. In the distance, they could make out buildings: blocky, industrial looking structures, the kind built by tilt-up construction, squat and silent under the emerging light.

Beth spotted a turnout and pulled in, cutting the engine.

“Why are we stopping?” Ariel protested, already halfway out of her seat.

“We’re close enough to walk the rest of the way,” Beth said. “I don’t want to meet another car on this road and have to back up the whole way down.”

“Fine, but let’s hurry!” Ariel snapped, slamming the door and taking off at a jog.

“Ariel—hold up!”

Ariel skidded to a stop, hands planted on her hips. “What now?” she called, exasperated.

Beth caught up, keeping her voice low and steady. “We need to take this slow. I’m still not convinced that email was real. We might not even be at the right place.”

“Oh, the email was real,” Ariel said firmly. “I guarantee it. And I’m certain Marni’s here. I can feel her.” She bit her tongue before saying more; arguing with Beth was a battle no one ever won.

There was a bite to the early morning air as they crouched behind a cluster of bushes. From their hiding place, they could see the compound more clearly: a handful of tilt-up buildings laid out like a small business park. There were three towers spaced around the perimeter, guard towers, maybe? Though they looked unmanned.

And then Beth stiffened, pointing sharply to the left. “Holy fuck. Look.”

Not a hundred meters away, in a long, narrow field, more than a dozen figures were bent over rows of strawberry plants. At first glance, they looked like robots, moving with eerie, mechanical precision. But the longer Ariel watched, the more wrong it seemed.

Whoever had designed them had given them human curves. Breasts. Hips. If they were machines, someone had sculpted them lovingly, hungrily, in the image of women.

“Who the fuck puts tits on a robot?” Beth whispered, voice low and disgusted.

“Look closer,” Ariel hissed. “They’re breathing. That one, and that one too. They’re not robots.”

Beth narrowed her eyes. “They act like they’ve forgotten how to be anything else,” she muttered. “No expressions. Empty eyes. And did you see that one just now? The way she sidestepped, real quick, so another could , then slid right back into place like she was on rails. When I picked strawberries in high school, I had to sit down every five minutes. It’s brutal work. They don’t even look tired.”

Ariel shivered. “It’s weird,” she agreed, her voice barely a breath against the morning chill. “Really, really weird.”

“Who or what did this to these women? This is seriously giving me the creeps” Beth continued in somber tone.. “We’re going to need back up, reinforcements before we try to go in there.”

“You go, I’m staying here.” Ariel was not going to surrender this argument, not a chance.

“What are you going to do? You going to try playing Bear Grylls for two days and nights?” Beth chided.

“We still have some food and some water. I will make do.I am not leaving, it’s not up for negotiation.”

“Promise me, you won’t try to do anything stupid like going in there alone.” Beth looked directly into Ariel’s eyes.

“I promise I won’t try to go in there. But I will try to scope the place out, you know so when you get back we can have a plan.” Ariel didn’t even believe her own words

“Ah fuck Ariel, DON’T do anything stupid.”

They walked back to the car. Ariel took the last of the sandwiches, two large bottles of water and a sleeping bag that was stored in the trunk.

Beth held her friend in a tight hug, not wanting to let go. “I’ll get back and soon as I possibly can with the Calvary.”

Beth got in the car and started the engine. She made a U-turn and blew a kiss to her friend as she headed back in the she had come.

Ariel had found a vantage point in the tall grass, closer now to the buildings, further from the watchtowers. From this distance, she could see the structures were massive, too large to be mere offices. Warehouses, maybe. Or something else entirely. Their bulk seemed to sink into the ground, suggesting that most of the facility lived beneath the earth.

She began to notice patterns in the movements of the women. They weren’t robots, she was certain now. Only their heads and feet were visible above the crops, their soles oddly bare. Their skin tones varied, pale, dark, and every shade between. Their faces were slack, their eyes vacant… but the blankness didn’t hide the truth: they were human.

Ariel spotted one with striking blue eyes, so vivid they cut through the misty morning. Had she once been blonde, with a soft, wavy bob, before her head was shaved and her mind… rewritten?

A cold knot twisted in Ariel’s stomach. Had they done this to Marni too?

Her mind drifted. To Marni’s laughter. To the dimples that framed her smile. To the brush of their lips in the dark.

Her beautiful Marni.

And then, that night, early in their relationship.

They were tangled in bed. Marni had straddled her playfully, golden chain necklace dangling from her fingers.

“You are getting sleepy… very sleepy,” Marni had said, mock-serious. “When I snap my fingers… you will be deeply hypnotized. You will obey anything I tell you. You cannot resist.”

Ariel had giggled, playing along. Marni told her she couldn’t her name. Told her to lift her arms, and freeze them midair, locked by invisible strings.

It was just a game.

And yet… when the laughter faded, when the kisses deepened, Ariel found herself aching. Burning.

The thought of surrendering her mind, of being owned by another’s will, ignited something deep inside her. She had never come harder in her life.

That fantasy… it never really left her.

Now, watching the women in silver, human bodies moving like machinery, Ariel wondered:

Do they feel it too? That secret pleasure, hidden beneath the programming?

Without thinking, her hand slid between her thighs. Hidden in the grass, her fingers moved with slow, practiced strokes. Her breath caught. Her thoughts blurred.

She imagined herself among them. Barefoot. Shaved. Blank-eyed. Marching.

Her fingers didn’t stop until she came.

They never did, not when her fantasies brushed so close to reality.

* * *

Ariel checked her watch. “Just as I expected. Seventy-five minutes.”

Like clockwork, the door eased open. One by one, they slipped into the light, twelve silver-clad women, smooth and silent, their bare feet whispering against the ground. Twelve perfect bodies, swathed in second skin, eyes glassy and serene. Identical, exquisite.

Ariel scribbled the time in her pocket notebook, hands trembling with excitement. Five cycles now. Each exactly seventy-five minutes apart. Each time, the same—twelve soft girls, marching in hypnotic cadence, shifting their path like programmed tides: right turn, right again, then left.

Seven buildings stood in the field. Four had seen these silent migrations. Marni had to be in one of them. She had to be.

Ariel’s thighs squeezed together instinctively as she watched the women move. They didn’t walk. They flowed. Effortless. Weightless. Erotic without even meaning to be.

They turned left, drifting toward the next building, heads facing forward, hands relaxed at their sides, their suits gleaming like wet silk beneath the early sun.

Not a bag in their hands. Not a tool. Not a purpose, except movement itself. At seventy-five minute intervals, without fail.

Ariel could feel her pulse everywhere, in her temples, her wrists, the hollow ache between her legs.

She had seventy-one minutes before the next shift.

Seventy-one minutes was forever.

“Promise me you won’t try anything stupid, like going in there alone,” Beth’s warning whispered from the back of her mind.

Ariel smirked. She could always explain it later. Dehydration. Panic. But if she found Marni, if she saved her, would anyone really care how she did it?

The buildings stood so close. She could smell the heat rising from their walls. She crouched low, heart pounding in her ears, and slipped from the grass into the open.

Far below, hidden beneath layers of earth and concrete, unseen eyes feasted on her every movement.

[INTERLUDE — SYSTEM MONITOR: COMPOUND]

A smooth, clinical voice purred:

“Intruder pulse detected.

Solitary female approaching Building 7.”

A second voice answered, softer, warmer, threading pleasure into every syllable:

“Continue observation. Initiate Protocol Delta.

Allow her curiosity to deepen.

Report upon Phase I conversion trigger.

I am the one who gives you pleasure.”

The first voice released a trembling sigh, as if savoring the memory.

* * *

Ariel reached the first building, panting softly. She flattened herself against the wall, eyes darting to the silver disk affixed to the heavy door. No markings. No handles. Just the silent, featureless metal.

She tugged. Nothing. Locked tight.

She glanced over her shoulder — still alone. Still unseen.Heart hammering, she darted to the next building.

Second door. Same result. A dead, unyielding weight.

She bit her lip, suppressing a growl of frustration, and sprinted for the third door… and it swung open beneath her hand.

“Third time’s the charm,” she whispered, slipping inside before the wind could catch her scent.

Inside, the air was cool. Still. The corridor stretched long and clinical, lined with rows of glass-walled chambers. A shallow gutter — no, a drain, ran down the center of the floor like a beckoning path.

Ariel’s stomach twisted. This was no warehouse. This was… something else.

She crept to the nearest glass door and tested the handle. Unlocked. Inside: a simple tiled room, pristine and empty, save for a metal cabinet near the back wall—and another drain set precisely in the center.

Ariel squinted. No faucet. No showerhead. No toilet. Just… the drain.

She backed out, blood roaring in her ears, and continued creeping down the corridor.

The building stretched like a maze designed to trap the curious. And somewhere ahead, A sound. The rush of water.

She dropped to her belly, crawling into the gutter, pressing herself flat into its shallow curve. It wasn’t much cover, but it was something. If she kept still, if she stayed small, maybe…

The door in the chamber ahead clicked open. Ariel froze.

A woman stepped into view. Naked. Dripping wet—and yet… not a drop clung to her skin. As if the water had been stripped away along with her humanity.

Ariel’s mouth went dry. The woman was breathtaking. Smooth. Perfectly toned. Breasts high and firm. Skin luminous.

And her eyes, Empty. Beautiful.

The woman crossed to the metal cabinet. She tapped it lightly and a drawer slid open with a soft hiss.

From inside, she retrieved a garment, gray and shimmering, like silk caught in a dream.

She stepped into it. Legs first. Then arms. Pulling it up over her shoulders like a ritual.

The fabric shifted. It slithered and curled over her body, turning darker, richer, becoming molten silver, becoming alive.

Ariel watched, transfixed, as the suit embraced the woman. It rippled across her skin like liquid mercury, caressing every curve, hugging every hollow.

Within moments, the transformation was complete. The woman stood reborn, silver-clad, shining, breathtaking.

She lowered her hands, slackened her face…… and marched, blank and beautiful, out of sight.

She hadn’t seen Ariel. Or if she had… it simply didn’t matter.

Panic prickled the back of Ariel’s neck. She had to act. Now.

Scrambling to her feet, she slipped into the chamber the woman had left.

Inside, everything was still. Waiting.

Ariel’s mind raced. The drawer, yes, the cabinet.

She tapped it desperately. Nothing.

She leaned against the door. A click. The back wall slid open.

Behind it: another small room. And a pulsing purple light.

Before Ariel could think, before she could stop herself, she stepped inside.

The water came in a flood. Warm. Soaking. Filling her ears, her mouth, her skin, her soul. She gasped, but the water didn’t choke her. It cleansed her. Stripped her.

The torrent slowed. Shifted. Became air. Soft, swirling, hungry air that whipped around her, caressing every inch of her trembling body.

When it finally ceased, Ariel stumbled out. Soaked. Breathless. Naked.

She reached up, hands shaking, Her scalp tingled. Her hair was gone. She was bald. Just like the women outside.

Ariel staggered to the drawer. Touched it. It slid open easily now, offering her its secret.

The fabric inside felt impossibly soft, like whispered promises against her fingertips. She stepped into it, legs, arms, shoulders, like slipping into a dream.

It began almost immediately. The suit melted against her, flowing over her, mapping her curves with liquid devotion. She gasped, feeling it tighten, feeling it claim her, feeling it know her.

Molten silver licked her thighs, her belly, her breasts. It shimmered around her throat, teasing the nape of her neck. Then the swirling slowed. Solidified.

She stood there, a creature of gleaming chrome and bare, vulnerable skin. Only her head and feet remained exposed to the air.

The pleasure came next. Slow. Subtle. Then rising, an unstoppable tide. Her pussy ached, throbbing with need. Her fingers obeyed without conscious thought, slipping between her thighs to find the molten slit that the suit had so thoughtfully left open.

The climax tore through her. Hot. Violent. Endless. She cried out in the empty room, then collapsed against the wall, panting.

The suit pulsed softly, as if rewarding her. Ariel could only moan in gratitude.

She was inside now. And the soft girls were waiting.

Somewhere beyond the fields, beneath layers of concrete and steel, unseen eyes tracked the flicker of a new soul entering the system.

A voice, sterile and clinical, echoed through hidden channels:

“Continue ive monitoring.

Initiate Delta Sequence at operator discretion.

Subject remains unconverted.

I am the one who gives you pleasure.”

A faint, almost inaudible hum of anticipation answered.

* * *

Ariel pressed her forehead to the cool tile, breath coming fast. She blinked hard, forcing herself to stay alert.

What the hell was happening to me?

Her body still tingled, still hummed with the aftershock of strange, unbearable pleasure… But her mind, her mind, was hers.

She clenched her fists. Stay focused. Stay strong. She still had a mission. Find Marni.

Ariel straightened, wiping damp palms against her silver-clad thighs. The suit hugged her tighter now, like a second skin, but she could still think, still move. I’m not one of them, she told herself. Not yet.

She glanced at the nearest corridor, choosing a path at random. It didn’t matter where it led, she would search every inch of this place if she had to.

Marni, she thought. Hold on. I’m coming.

And she moved forward, unaware that her first steps deeper into the compound had already been guided. Unaware that every choice she made was, slowly, softly, being shaped for her.
