Hey there! I’m TempleSiren_NULL. I’ve been reading stories on Simon’s website for the past 20 years or so, and have spent a long time figuring out what I like and what I don’t like. Now that Simon’s opened up Reader’s lists again, I’m thrilled to finally share some of my favorites with you all.
For some context, I am a bisexual man in my late 30s. I am a huge fan of the psychology of mind control. Showing someone a hypnosis app and having them instantly become a slave does very little for me. Watching the slow descent of someone making seemingly reasonable choice after reasonable choice until they don’t recognize themselves anymore is the heart of my favorite stories. To this end, I much prefer things that are written from the subject’s perspective. Because I’m primarily interested in psychological descent rather than any particular subject matter, some of my picks include stories with taboo themes such as incest. I hope there’s enough variety here that even if that isn’t your thing, you’ll still find something you like.
With one exception, I’ve tried to pick stories that are (as of now) not on anyone’s Reader’s List. I hope you find something new to love here.
Without further ado, here is the list:
I’ll be honest, I find a lot of this story to be a bit overwritten and meandering. The parts that work however, are some of the hottest mc I’ve ever read. Part 2 specifically covers the alien brainwashing process and we get to see how it works from both the inside and outside. Incredible descriptive writing as always from trilby.
Good Morning Little School Girl by Jukebox
There are so many great Jukebox stories I could have picked, but this was my favorite one that isn’t already on someone else’s list. Serena gets to tour Mind Control University and we get to see a cornucopia of brainwashing methods. The twist at the end gets me every time. Short but sweet.
Daddy’s Brainwashed Slut: Aural Seduction by Jessie Hackborn
I love the time skipping narrative where we get to see both Haily’s fall and her daily life as her stepfather’s slave. I have a hard time picking a favorite chapter as it changes day by day. A real shame there’s so little from this author.
Slaves to the Snake Goddess by Sammynona
While I see far more discussion about Falling for her Tits or It Runs in the Family, this was the story that INSTANTLY made me consider Sammy one of the great writers on this site. Such a simple and obvious premise, a girl is brainwashed by a video tape, and inadvertently shares it with her friends. The first two chapters work amazingly on their own but the final chapter is something I find myself rereading again and again.
There is so much to love in this story. Michela’s control over her own slaves is fun in and of itself, but watching what happens when she starts to lose control is where the real heat lives. This story probably has my favorite final line of any story I’ve read.
Baby Steps — Alternate Ending by MindSpark
The correct reading order for MindSpark’s opus is Trancing Emily, Training Emily, and then Alternate Ending. I strongly recommend reading through them all in order, but if I have to pick one to link to, it would be the alternate ending. Baby Steps is a masterclass in building tension as we watch David slowly brainwash his wife and daughter, and while the original ending does hit, it didn’t feel like the proper payoff to all that buildup. The alternate ending absolutely solves that by going harder than anything that came before. A perfect finale to an amazing story and, to me, is the canon ending.
Colors and Shapes by Mesmerciless
A simple enough premise that Mesmerciless delivers with precision. Tiffany wants to rescue her sister, and accidentally begins to succumb to the video that her sister is addicted to. The entire story describes her mental state as she watches the video and is transformed by it. I would assume you couldn’t have 6000 words describing basically one scene, but Mesmerciless absolutely delivers.
I find Pan very hit or miss. Some of his stories, I try and try and try, but can’t seem to get into. Other stories, once I start, I just can’t stop. This is certainly one of the latter. While seemingly from the dominant’s point of view, it soon becomes clear to the reader that Joanna is not as in control as she thinks she is. With writing like this, it’s easy to see why Pan is such a beloved writer, even if I don’t love all of his stories.
The Unicorn by TempleSiren_NULL
This is my list and this is one of my favorite stories ever, so I figured I’d include it. I think Thalenya is the best character I’ve ever written and after a year writing for this website, my sophomore effort is still the one I’m proudest of. If the rest of the stories on my list appealed to you, I’m sure you’ll enjoy this one too.
This will be the one exception to my rule not to recommend stories on other people’s lists. Sub Routine is my all-time absolute favorite story and if you haven’t read it, I would be doing a disservice not to recommend it. I am constantly in awe of Tabico’s ability to show Rose’s descent so perfectly in just three parts. The ending, of course, is the best part. Everything that came before becomes justified in the perfect way.
