Chapter Title: 8 — Melika of Raleigh
* * *“God, it’s so beautiful here,” Casey said, leaning on the guide rail looking over the lake.
“Yes, fuck!” Lilah agreed, holding the rail tightly. Hale had his hands on her hips, pulling her ass apart as his cock speared into her sphincter.
“I’ll say,” Alicia agreed, lazily rubbing Lilah’s clit.
The other girls were down the slope, packing up the tent and gear. Reika, Dakota, Ivy, and Nique had all cum first last night. It was the fairest way to assign chores.
“Oh my fuck my god!” Lilah said, grinding her teeth. Anal wasn’t something she had ever asked for, but with a friend rubbing her clit as her asshole throbbed around Hale’s cock, it was making her cum in stupid ways. Every thought in her mind struggled to press through the fog of mental razor wire. She just managed to curse and scream.
A trucker’s horn blasted. Hale raised his hand in celebratory cheer as Lilah stared madly at the ing tractor trailer.
“Looks like they’re finishing up,” Casey said, stepping back from the look off to squat behind Hale and take his testicles in her mouth. Alicia dropped down and gave Lilah the clit-licking that sent the blonde singer into paroxysms.
“OH fuck FUCK fuck you girls!” Lilah whimpered, rubbing her tongue against the underside of her top lip as she came. Her whole body sagged as her pussy gushed. Her breasts, hanging free, bounced madly with Hale’s furious pounding.
“God, I hate cumming,” Ivy said, hauling up the tent bag towards Betty.
“Yeah, I call horseshit, you hair trigger slut,” Dakota said. She sighed. “Sorry, we’re stopping for coffee, right?”
Hale responded but his vocalizations were as scatterbrained as Lilah’s. Casey smiled proudly around his sac.
“Cumming?” Dakota asked with a big smile as she watched the sexual knot shiver and buck.
“Christ fuck...” Lilah whimpered, stretching and arcing as she felt Hale’s ropes of cum spray up and into her.
Reika slapped Betty on the hood. “Cuddle!”
“Dammit,” Ivy said.
Casey and Alicia helped Hale and Lilah tumble down on the roadside grass. Hale squeezed Lilah’s breast, leaving the new ring encircling Lilah’s nipples.
“They just, uh, show...”
“Breathe,” Alicia said, rubbing Lilah’s back. Casey took the ring and hopped to her feet.
“They just show up out of nowhere?” Lilah asked.
“Always from my hand onto a girl’s skin,” Hale said.
“I think that’s right,” Casey said, trying to the original appearances. “Next stop North Carolina?”
“And the home that came with the truck,” he said. “I can’t wait to show you all. It’s right on the beach and...”
He looked around. Alicia helped Lilah to her feet.
“We need a North Carolina girl,” he said.
“No, you will be taking on three women in North Carolina.”
They turned and saw a Coyote sitting at the end of the K-rail.
“I only have the one ring,” he said. “It’d take... twenty days to—”
“You have eight rings,” the Coyote said. “I’ll see you soon.”
“You can’t fucking talk! You’re a coyote!” Lilah screamed a full twelve-seconds later, after the coyote had loped away.
Seldom did everyone ride in Betty’s cab. There were usually two girls in the trailer. It was only meant to sleep four, and even that was tight beyond belief.
Ivy and Casey were riding in back as they crossed into North Carolina. The first time ever Ivy had ever opted out of Betty. Everyone else liked a break from time to time. Reika never left the cab, but she needed the break more than everyone else.
“He’s not going to do it,” Ivy said.
“But he might have to?” Casey was tired of the conversation going in circles.
“And what? He just kicks two of us out of the team? For whatever skanks some coyote has settled on? You know they’re not going to be ring-worthy.”
“We have no idea why or how any of this works,” Casey said, waving the ring. “But we do know the Coyote has been telling Hale that he owed him for Reika...”
“And so many of us...”
“I don’t think I need the ring,” Casey said. “He said, right from the beginning. He couldn’t give me away. It was one of the rules.”
“Rules he made without a trickster coyote g off on them,” Ivy said.
“What I’m saying is, I liked him before I had this,” Casey waved the ring. “I can lend it out to somebody so Hale can do whatever voodoo he needs to to satisfy the magic.”
“Someone tries to take the ring off my finger, I’m biting their fingers off,” Ivy said.
“You don’t think you could love him without the ring?”
“I don’t think I could love everyone all the time forever without magic,” Ivy said. “Hell, this makes me love you and sometimes I want to slap you silly.”
“You silly or more silly than that?”
“More silly.”
“That’s a lot of slapping,” Casey said.
“Look, it’s not a question because he’s not going to do it.”
“What if the coyote tries to hurt us?”
“It’s thirty pounds or some shit. I say the next time he opens its stupid face we stomp its head in,” Ivy said.
“That is a plan,” Casey said. “You don’t think it’s been the same coyote though?”
“Wait, it’s all coyotes?” Ivy said.
“You don’t think a coyote followed a truck from California across the country do you?”
“Not anymore,” Ivy said. “I never really thought about it.”
They frowned at each other.
“He’s not going to do it,” Ivy said.
“Dr Bjarnsson!”
Soren turned and saw one of his new grad students clicking down the hallway after him in her stilettos and suit. Melika was dressed in a light summer yellow skirt suit with an open collared white blouse underneath. She was a gorgeous Hawaiian girl, lithe and soft, athletic and sweet-faced. Her green eyes were alight with joy.
“Miss Lani,” he said, smiling. “I’m sorry, I didn’t make time for any meetings today.”
“Can I talk with you as you walk back to your office?”
“Of course,” he said.
“I was looking up the Draupnir,” she said.
He frowned, darkly.
“I saw the pages open in your office at our last meeting. I must it, Norse mythology has always been a favorite of mine.”
“You’re voracious,” he said. “What isn’t a favorite of yours?”
“I’m a bit tired of the colonial era,” she said. “And I never could get into the history of mathematics class I took last year. I don’t want to blame it on Mr Xanthopoulos dry and disinterested lectures, however. And, I understand of course that material sciences and engineering are key to—”
“It was a rhetorical question,” he said.
“Oh, of course,” she said.
“Soren, took you long enough,” Terry was waiting for Soren at his office.
“I’m sorry, Miss Lani,” he said. “We’ll reconvene later. I do have quite a busy day.”
“Oh, of course,” she said.
“Don’t run away too quickly,” Terry said. “Introduce us Soren.”
“This is Melika, one of my teaching assistants,” Soren said, visibly put upon. “Melika this is an associate and benefactor of mine, Terry Hofstedder.”
“It’s a pleasure,” Melika said.
“What part of the occult does she study?”
“I teach histories of the religion and—”
“I’m currently very interested in Norse and Germanic mythologies,” Melika said.
“Well, fantastic,” Terry said. “Many hands make short work. Perhaps you can help us with a little archaeology project.”
“I’m sure Melika has many responsibilities to—”
“Actually, I’m hanging loose until September. I’d love to help with anything,” she said. “Truly.”
Soren looked at Terry. The look was incredibly heavy.
“Right, we’re not prepared yet for a third,” Terry said. “However, assuming we tidy this first hiccup up quickly. We’ll need some help then.”
“Lay it on thicker,” Soren muttered under his breath.
Melika kept her cheeks from blushing. This Terry was thirty years older than her and in middling shape. She decided Soren’s dismissal was in fact a protective measure for herself.
“I hope you do keep me in mind,” she said. “I hope we can speak again soon, Dr Bjarnsson.”
“Yes, of course,” Soren said. “Terry.”
Soren held the office door for Terry and locked it behind them. Melika sighed. She really had so little to do for the next few weeks. She had been so deep in her work and studies, she wasn’t even sure she knew how to have fun and help the time until the fall semester started.
Betty rolled into Raleigh, Hale patted Dakota on the head, hurrying her up. He didn’t like driving downtown getting head as much as he did on the highway. There was something about cruise control and fewer blind corners that made the drive’s safer.
Dakota smiled around his cockhead, rolling her tongue left and right under the lip of his foreskin. Her wrist stroked his cock as hard as possible.
“What’s his name?” Ivy asked, pushing the warrior panda into the back of Nique’s ear.
“I don’t know,” Nique said, swatting over her shoulder. “Ask Lilah.”
“She’s in the camper,” Reika said.
“No shit sherlock,” Ivy said. Casey squeezed Ranger a little tighter.
Dakota did her best to ignore her travelling companions and that got easier as Hale seized, a hand flat against her skull as he ejaculated into her mouth. Slurping loudly, she gathered him all on her tongue, before sliding off of Nique’s lap to tilt her head back and swallow.
“Hoo,” Hale said. “What do we do in Raleigh?”
Everyone was a little underwhelmed since the coyote. They hadn’t done much in North Carolina besides fuck and find roadside diners.
“There’s a scrimmage game... The season doesn’t start until the end of the month but we can probably go tailgating?” Reika said.
“Football?” Casey said, perking up.
“Wait,” Dakota said. “Why are you suggesting football?”
“I play sports,” Reika replied.
“Yeah, she’s a master a tonsil hockey,” Ivy said.
Hale laughed.
“Tennis,” Reika said.
“Yes, we know,” Casey said. “Tailgating sounds fun. And you know who goes to college ball?”
“Everybody?” Dakota asked.
“Cheerleaders,” Casey said.
“So?” Nique said. “It’s not like we have a spare ring.”
It was pre-season. No college would be risking their stars, but it was time to earn some money from the stadiums and get some practice in for the rookies and the second, third, and fourth stringers. Carter-Finley Stadium was home to the NC Wolfpack. It was going to be a promising season.
Hale pulled the camper and truck behind the pickups and SUVs. The girls jumped out, raring to get in. Hale slid out, looking for some enthusiasm, his eyelids drooping as he tried to stay awake.
“Woo!” Alicia was beaming as she stepped out of the camper. Dakota was helping her carry a twenty-four pack onto Betty’s bed. They unhooked the trailer and moved Betty into the space next by.
“Hey!” The stadium wasn’t packed for pre-season but there were enough Duke jerseys and people around to spark some rivalries around a few different trucks. The girls caught the eyes of many and soon Betty was a hub for much of the pre-game shenanigans.
Hale was sitting on Betty’s tailgate, drinking a beer, and people-watching mostly. Dakota had taken to his laidback attitude, sat on his left, knee to knee with him, though her beer was disappearing much faster.
“What’s eating you?” she asked.
“That obvious?”
“You’re not difficult to read,” she said, dropping her head on his shoulder. “Plus I love you. I pay attention.”
“I’m still a bit overwhelmed to read all of you so well.”
“You’re also very much a guy,” she said, laughing. “C’mon. Talk through it, it might help.”
“I’m not going to help the coyote,” he said.
“Well, we knew that,” she said.
“Huh?”
“Casey’s got a plan though,” Dakota said. “Seriously. I think it’s a good one.”
“Well then,” Hale said. “See any new potentials?”
She jabbed him with a finger.
“Wrong question?”
“There were three, earlier,” she said. “But I wrote them off.”
“Why?”
“Because she arrived,” Dakota said, pointing to a brown woman who looked out of place in and somehow alone despite three men talking to her. She was wearing a yellow suit jacket. She looked like she should be in a law office, not at football game.
“You’ve got a great eye,” he said. “She looks overwhelmed. Let’s go rescue her.”
Dakota kissed him. “You’re such a hero.”
He squeezed her knee, hopped down, grabbed her hips and helped her down onto the asphalt.
Terry and Soren arrived at the stadium following the pictures from Casey and Reika’s Instagrams.
“You don’t get tickets?” Terry asked. “You’re a professor here.”
“I don’t care for American Football, and I’d rather they spend that money getting me dental coverage and—”
“You’re in America, be American.”
“I’m not going to shoot up a school or invade an oil rich nation,” Soren grumbled.
“Shut up,” Terry said. He cross-reference two pictures. “They’re parked over there.”
“It’s busy,” Soren said.
“It damn well better be, your tax dollars built this stadium. If it didn’t bring in money, you wouldn’t be free to do your esoteric helpful only to me research.”
“One of those rings is mine,” Soren said. “And one to study.”
“And one to study?”
“Yes, and,” he said. “The other is for my lab assistant.”
Terry said. “That is the deal.”
Soren frowned. Terry needed constant reminder of the . It was getting so tiresome.
Melika hadn’t been to any sports game since she was a freshman. She had learned, years ago, that she didn’t care who won and she especially didn’t care for the guy who had brought her to that game.
But for the first time, she had all the time in the world on her hands.
She didn’t know what to do with herself.
A day of sitting her studio apartment, masturbating to the romance novels she had always meant to read hadn’t satisfied her. She had friends, online, no one in Raleigh. She had ed Tinder, but that had reminded her of the emotionless encounters that had turned her away from sports from the first place.
But was sports the problem?
Or just incurious sexually-pushy men?
And that’s how she ended up in the crowd. Three sexually-pushy men were already latched onto her. She was reconsidering giving that book about the girl getting pregnant by a sasquatch turned out.
“Hey,” a young native woman bumped her hip. “Sorry guys, this one’s spoken for. See the redhead and the Latina over there? They’re total you’ll get- nowhere teases, but they do have free beer.”
The guys stuttered for a moment. “My name’s Dakota.”
The strum of a guitar boomed and Lilah started belting out Hot Guy on a Hot Truck from atop Betty’s bed. The song wasn’t as well known as it was in Nashville, but it quickly got the co-eds jumping. Alicia leading the pack of the college girls bouncing practically out of their tops.
“Rescue success,” Hale said, as Dakota walked Melika up to him. “Hi, I’m Hale. You seem a bit out of place.”
“Hi,” Melika said, looking him up and down. It was hard to guess his age, but she suspected she was older than him. But when the slender native girl went in under her arm a prickle ran up the back of Melika’s neck. Something compelling her to compete with the girl. She had to take a long deep breath to evade the thought. She was in no mind to question it. “I’m Melika.”
“Yellow’s not a team color,” Dakota noted. “Are you as out of place as we are?”
“I’m North Carolina State,” she said. “Go...” It took her a moment. “Wolfpack.”
“Go Wolfpack,” Hale said. “You want a drink.”
He handed her a beer and she looked at it funny. She wasn’t driving and the point was to go out and have fun. She took a sip.
“That is a raunchy version of the song,” Dakota said.
“You know her?” Melika said. “She’s kinda amazing.”
“Understatement,” Hale said. “Yeah, Lilah’s one of our traveling buddies. Road trip across America.”
“That sounds fun,” she said. “I wish I could do something like that.”
“Don’t let yourself stop yourself,” Hale said. “What are you studying?”
“Oh, I’m doing my masters in history,” she said. “I haven’t settled on a discipline, but there’s a great Norse and Viking scholar at the school.” She was shocked to see a genuine interest on his face. She tilted her head. Dakota was still here. Melika sighed. The good ones were always taken.
“Do you know Norse runes?” Dakota asked, she put out her hand for Melika.
“Not... without a reference book,” Melika said, but as she picked up Dakota’s hand and looked over the ring. “Yeah, but you should look up Dr Soren Bjarnsson, he—”
“Doesn’t need to hear his name three times to appear,” Soren said. Melika nearly jumped out of her skin.
“Hale, son!” Terry stepped through Melika and Dakota and forced a hug around Hale’s shoulders.
“Uh... Is Mom here?” Hale asked.
Terry just smiled.
“Come on, let’s go somewhere we can talk. I’m sure your girlfriend can spare you for a few minutes,” Terry pushed Hale.
Hale looked at Dakota. “Tell the others.”
Melika watched Terry and Soren all but force-march Hale through the crowd. Dakota went towards the truck but Melika grabbed her hand.
“What?”
“He had a matching ring, didn’t he?” Melika asked, running her finger over the runes. “Come with me. I have some books on something like this.”
Dakota frowned. “I have to tell the other girls.”
“Tell us what, chere?” Nique asked. She bloomed into an excited smile to look Melika up and down. “Bonjour.”
“Hi,” Melika said, looking this new blonde up and down. Her eyes zeroed in on the rings. She turned to Dakota. “Bring your friends as well.”
“Look, I’m not going any further,” Hale said, coming to a stop outside of the crowd in the parking lot. Most of the partiers were already moving inside anyways. “It’s good to see you Terry,” he lied. “But if Mom’s not here—”
“Listen, little shit,” Terry dropped the act immediately. “This doesn’t belong to you.”
He grabbed for Hale’s hand and Hale pulled his hand away.
“Stop, Terry,” Soren said. Just because they were out of the crowd didn’t mean they were away from witnesses. Plus it was clear the boy was more than ready to lay out the older man.
“The ring, it’s not yours. However you got it, this is the end. It was important to my father, he had pity on you kid. That’s why he gave you the truck. This isn’t about pity. This is about legacy.”
“No, I have written proof the ring and the truck were meant for me,” he said.
“Written proof?”
“Yes, written proof,” Hale reiterated. “I’ll send a copy over to the lawyers. That’ll settle this, I’m not giving it up.”
“You’re running around getting your wick wet!” Terry lost control of his voice. He looked at Soren and calmed himself down. “You’ve been given the goddamned Mona Lisa and you’re scribbling on it with fucking crayons! I want the ring. Now.”
“Never,” Hale said. “Your Dad knew better to let it end up in your or any of your siblings hands. You tore apart everything he ever owned chasing them down. No, you’re done.
I’m done. We’re done. This is how it is.”
Hale shrugged Terry off and jogged back across the parking lot.
“Great plan, Terry,” Soren said.
“It’s not over yet,” Terry said. “We know where he’s headed?”
“After my TA?” Soren asked.
“What?” Terry’s lips turned into a bright wide smile. “Yes, she does meet his taste, doesn’t she?”
“His taste is physically attractive, so yes. I guess she does,” Soren said, sighing before racing to catch pace with Terry towards the car.
“Hale!” Ivy hit Hale with a side-tackle hug.
“Hi,” he said, frowning. “Where are the girls?”
Casey, Lilah, and Alicia had packed up the mess. Nique, Reika, and Dakota were gone.
“They went honey-hunting,” Ivy said. “With the Hawaiian mamacita you picked out.”
“She’s a Norse history grad student,” Lilah said. “She’s interested in the rings. Slow pitch over home plate it looks like.”
Hale nodded.
“Where’d they go?”
“School buildings are just down that way,” Alicia pointed. She then frowned, before lighting up. “They have cell phones.”
“Right,” Hale said. He scratched through his hair. “Text them we’re missing the game.” He went to the bed to grab some of the trash and cart it to the receptacles.
“That sucks,” Alicia said. “Who’d you run off with?”
“He’s my stepfather,” Hale said. “His father, Marcus Hofstedder, gave me this.”
They looked at the ring.
“And he knows about it,” Hale said. He carried the trash to the bin. Yellow ears and bright eyes shot up before he could empty his hands.
“And it’ll take three fingers to get rid of him for good,” the fox said. “The first is Old Marcus’s estate lawyer.”
Hale frowned.
“Just leave the rest of the trash,” Hale said. “We can dump it elsewhere. Casey, do you have the ring?”
“I trusted it to Dakota,” Casey said. “She had... Melika’s ear.”
“Find somewhere to go and text us the address,” Hale said. “I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
“Oh, sorry,” Melika said, after rambling for so long.
“Don’t be!” Dakota said.
“Oui, non,” Nique added. “Such ion and excitement. It’s what I wanted to see when I go to school in September.”
“Are you starting here?” Melika asked.
Reika frowned, slowing to a stop. It took a second for the rest of the girls to notice.
“What’s wrong, petite?” Nique asked.
“Casey and Hale are going back to California?” Reika said. “I kinda thought this was forever.”
“I think it is,” Dakota said, turning the ring on her finger. “Even if we’re not together for a little while.”
“You all didn’t start the summer road trip together?”
“We all got picked up along the way,” Nique said. “Dakota was second.”
“Third,” Dakota said. “Ivy and Casey were first.”
“Oui?” Nique frowned. “I can’t imagine how Hale handled just the two of them.”
“Hale sounds like some guy,” Melika said, frowning. Trying to infer which of the girls he was dating. She could imagine that maybe there was some cheating going on, but for it to be in the open? It wasn’t like there weren’t polyamorous groups on campus, they were just... more predatory or more vapid than this. Melika frowned. “In here.”
She held the door and followed the others into her small office space. She was the only one around, most of the other grad students were having what little summer vacation they could before getting into their theses and dissertations.
There was a stack of books on her desk, all about Norse mythology and especially Draupnir.
“Let me write down the runes,” Melika said.
Dakota slipped her hand into her bag, but brought out her buzzing phone. She frowned. She looked and saw Reika and Nique had been messaged to.
“Stop, not yet, I’m coming to you.” And an address.
Dakota just let Melika lift her hand and scribble out the letters.
“Give me your number,” Dakota said.
“Oh, that’d be great,” Melika said, pulling out her phone. She was beginning to get excited. Dr Bjarnsson would make a great advisor and this inscription would be just the thing to get his attention.
Hale took directions from Reika and Nique as he jogged across campus, made wrong turns, and finally started getting clear and concise and nonconflicting directions from Dakota.
He found his three girls in a second floor hallway outside of a cluster of offices.
“Hi,” Dakota said.
“Where’s the girl?” Hale asked.
Dakota looked panicked between Nique and Reika.
“You told us not to,” she said, a second later.
“No, that’s right,” he said, hugging her.
“What’s up?” Nique said.
“I’m going to have to talk to the coyote,” he said.
Reika, Dakota, and Nique all grabbed their rings possessively.
“How do we find a coyote for a powwow?” Ivy said, when everyone had arrived back at Betty. They were in a cheap hotel parking lot several blocks from the stadium. Hale kicked a trash bin, but no beady eyed head popped out to stare him down.
“He gave us a place to start,” Casey said. “The estate lawyer.”
Hale went into Betty’s cab and started digging through the secret space.
“I have the letter and papers here,” Casey said, tapping Hale on the shoulder.
“Thank you,” he said. Sighing, quickly. He ran through the names at the bottom of the legal letter. Anne Kipling was the only obviously feminine name. A quick google search of her name and the firm and he had Anne’s associate on the line in a matter of moments.
“Hi, my name’s Hale Valmont. I’m calling on behalf of my... inheritance to the Hofstedder estate. Marcus Hofstedder.”
“Please hold,” the associate said. Hale kicked and danced impatiently to the music. It seemed like four hours, it was closer to three minutes.
“Hello Mr Valmont, Anne Kipling speaking. You’re calling about the keys to the Wilmington house?”
“Yes,” he said, after a second to control himself from acting crazy. After all, the rings were secret. Right?
“Very good, do you know when you’ll be arriving in Wilmington? You’re based in California, are you not?”
“I’m actually, currently in Raleigh,” Hale replied.
“Oh, that’s convenient. Do you have a pen? I can give you the offices here, or I can meet you somewhere if you prefer?”
“Um... Let’s meet somewhere. I need something to eat.”
“May I pick the restaurant, we’re still on retainer to the Hofstedder estate, so a business meal is on us, and I do have a few favorites I’m sure you’ll love too,” she said.
“Certainly,” he said. “I’m not alone.”
“Oh, please, bring a date. And dress up. I’ll text you the reservations,” Anne said. “See you in a couple of hours.”
“Yes, thank you,” Hale said.
He hung up and relaxed with a deep breath. He looked around and cursed himself. She said to bring a, singular, date. Choosing a favorite amongst the girls wasn’t easy. Lilah and Nique had fit in so perfectly, while they were the newest and least integrated, they were still such an amazing fit.
“You’re taking Casey,” Ivy said, reading his face.
“Huh?” Casey said.
“Actually, I have a better choice for your companion,” the voice was silk and daggers. They turned to see a coyote with a wagging tail.
“I’ll do it,” Casey said. She pulled on her ring, but without Hale’s confirmation it didn’t budge. “Someone has to.”
“Not it!” Ivy said. She shrank back from the glare of the others.
“We need the first ring first,” Hale said, looking at the unclaimed ring between his pointer finger and thumb. “Dakota, you know you’re way around campus. Come with me.”
Dakota looked around, gripping her enringed left middle finger as she climbed into the enger side of Betty. Hale shut the door.
“You need a suit,” Nique said. “This restaurant, it is high end.”
“I have one in the trailer,” he said, reaching the driver side door. “I’ll be back.”
Betty drove off.
“One of us has to take her ring off,” Casey said. “Look, I’ve known Hale for the longest. I’ve been friends before the ring, it was only a matter of time before we started dating without the ring. I can take it off and not lose anything.”
“I don’t believe you,” Ivy said.
Casey frowned, not sure how to deal with that.
“Besides, sugah,” Alicia said. “He needs three rings. That’s not just you.”
“I...” Reika said. “If I take it off, I might end up going home, going to school, not being part of this anymore. Don’t ask me to.”
“I gave up two jobs and my music career,” Lilah said. “Don’t ask me either.”
“I have plans and school coming,” Nique said. “I don’t want to leave, but I had a life planned out beforehand. I’ll be the second.”
Everyone sat quietly, no one wanted to agree.
“I’m worried about Dakota,” Alicia said. “She’ll do the right thing and it’ll break her heart.”
“Why’d we let them go alone?”
Hale’s patent leather shoes felt like they were made of concrete. His lip rippled in disgust at the sixty-something old woman on his arm. She was chubby and severe. Her makeup too much and the ring on her finger made his stomach turn.
Not as badly as the pair sitting inside his breast pocket.
No word from the Coyote.
No cheer on Hale’s face.
“Professor Gammel?” the Maitre D’ asked of the woman at Hale’s side. “Your usual table.”
“I’m here with the young man,” Professor Gammel said with a scratchy voice.
“I’m expected by an Anne Kipling,” Hale said, robotically.
“Of course,” the Maitre D’ said. “Follow me.”
He led the pair through a cool dark restaurant to a private side room where a tall woman in her early fifties with obviously dyed blonde hair was waiting in a sharp and expensive skirt suit. She stood up and walked over for a handshake. She looked Professor Gammel up and down.
“Donna? How are you with Mr Valmont?”
“We have a connection,” Donna Gammel said, running her hand warmly down Hale’s back. The ring gave him the oomph he had no desire for. His frown calcified and then fossilized. Anne nodded, with a smile that was 4 parts professional and 3 parts gossip-monger.
“Sit down, you’re not driving are you? They have an amazing wine selection here,” Anne said.
“Don’t I know it,” Donna said with a bright laugh.
“I did us the favor of ordering some appetizers, the lobster cakes are divine,” Anne said.
“A woman after my own heart,” Donna said.
Hale did his best to act politely, but his mind was snatched far away. He held the chairs for Anne and Donna who commented brightly to each other about the handsome young gentleman.
“Nothing like Old Marcus,” Anne said, in a bright and cheerful banter. A sommelier arrived and Anne sniffed the cork, tasted the wine, and deemed it worthy of her guests. They raised their glasses and Anne noticed the ring on Donna’s finger. She quickly then saw the mate on Hale’s.
“A moment of privacy, if you please?” she asked the sommelier. With a little curtsy the well-dressed serving girl disappeared. “May I?”
She lifted Donna’s hand. “Oh, more like Old Marcus than I had thought,” Anne said, eyes swimming with nostalgic glow. She sighed. “You are assuring yourself a place in her school, no doubt?”
Hale frowned.
“I was educated on Old Marcus’s dime,” Anne said, laughing. “Seven years of schooling wearing one of these the whole time.”
“You know what they are?” Hale asked.
“But how did he get them to you?” Anne said. “There wasn’t an unturned stone by his sons, daughters, and ex-lovers.”
“Yourself included?”
“No,” Anne said, but she realized her lie was seen-through. “Except on behalf of my husband.”
Hale reached into his pocket.
“I’m still having trouble with some of the sons and daughters...”
“I’m sure you are,” she said. “I must it, no one expected you of all people. He was quite generous with a number of stepchildren and bastards. The truck was unique... They were in the truck? I swear that vehicle had been searched seven times. If I hadn’t prevented it from being fully scrapped for parts on your behalf... That cagey bastard.”
“Do you have the keys? Can you help me get rid of Terry?”
“I am here on behalf of... Terrence Hofstedder’s associate,” Donna said. “Our Dr Bjarnsson is applying for tenure. It shouldn’t be difficult to end their incursions.”
Hale felt the two rings in his pocket.
“For the right price,” Anne said. “I can do anything.”
Hale had a ring clutched tightly in the palm of his hand.
Casey sat on the bed in the trailer. She ran her fingers through her hair, Ivy suckled on Casey’s nipple. Reika licked lightly on Casey’s clit. Casey itched her own bare finger.
“Guys?” she said, gasping as Reika doubled her effort at being spoken to. Ivy was still suckling, lost in their kinky arrangement, pushing Reika’s face deeper into Casey’s cunt.
“I’m not going to run away,” Casey said, melting like ice cream in the sun as Ivy and Reika licked and fingered quickly.
Casey closed her eyes, rolling and bumping with the genuine affection.
But it wasn’t the same as before.
It was pleasurable. Casey couldn’t believe at how well these two girls knew her body by now. Casey ran her fingers through Ivy’s hair and held tightly onto a short shelf, whiteknuckling.
“I think, I, uh, need a moment with Dak-oh my god!”
Casey felt the orgasm cumming. She clenched her thighs and curled her toes. She squealed, loudly, as Reika slid a finger up her ass. “Oh my god!”
“Don’t give her a second to think!” Ivy commanded. “Attack! Attack! Attack!”
“I’m doing my best!” Reika grumbled.
“You’re best needs to be better, level up!”
“Fine! You lick her pussy!” Reika pushed off.
Ivy dived down in between Casey’s legs.
“Guys? Let me see Nique, and—”
Reika straddled Casey and shut her up with a kiss.
Lilah held Dakota in a tight hug against her tits. They sat on the bed in their hotel room, the trailer had been too cramped for seven. Across the bed, Nique was entangled up in a hug from behind by Alicia. Nique rolled the ring around her index finger.
“I need a turn,” Dakota pleaded. “Please.”
“Come on now,” Alicia said, kissing Nique’s neck.
“I just got it... I just got it...” Nique said. A few more kisses and she eased the ring off her finger and ed it to Dakota who slid it on and shook in orgasmic joy.
“Oh fuck yes,” Dakota said.
“I can take off one of your rings,” Nique suggested. “It doesn’t have to be just her and me.”
“I’ll fight you,” Alicia said, sweetly. It was a truth, not a threat.
“Me too,” Lilah said.
“How long does he need to waste his time with these people?” Nique asked. “Dakota, I need the ring.”
“I just got it... I just got it...”
The small metal loop traveled back and forth, like the mouthpiece of a SCUBA tank.
Sooner or later, someone was going to drown.
Martina Hofstedder was a little older than Linda, Hale’s mom. Hale didn’t like the look of her. She looked like her brother Terry. She looked like a problem.
The coyote had a direction for Hale to go as soon as he left the restaurant.
He had two rich women at his side. They had all kinds of wealth and power to offer him. Martina would be even more.
Martina would be able to sign all the documents that would keep Terry away from Wilmington.
Martina was the last path on his way out.
He continued to watch her from afar. The older women at his side.
“Shit or get off the pot,” Anne said, visibly and sexually frustrated. “You’ve already taken up two hours of my time. That’s a lot of money.”
“Being Dean at a university is meeting after meeting,” Donna said. “If you’re going to use us. Put us to work.”
“This isn’t the right move,” he said.
“Do you have any other to make?”
“You alright in there, sweetheart?” Alicia knocked on the bathroom door. It swung inward to an empty room. She gasped. “You’re still wearing the ring, Nique?”
Nique waved her hand.
Alicia had her phone out and was dialing Hale right away. She rushed out of the hotel, taking the stairs down to the parking lot where the trailer was still shaking. She yanked open the door to find Ivy cuddling a trapped Casey while Reika made sandwiches in the nude.
“What’s going on?” Ivy asked.
“Did you see Dakota come by?”
“Casey needs a lot of attention right now,” Ivy said.
“Shit,” Alicia said, putting the phone to her ear. “Hale?”
“What happened?”
“We lost Dakota.”
“Hey,” Melika said, opening her door to see the skinny native girl. “You’re not wearing your ring.”
Dakota walked by her and into the room. She pulled out a seat and sat down.
“Something wrong?”
“Tell me about the ring,” Dakota said.
“Huh?” Melika said. “I’ve barely gotten started. I’ve been hoping to talk with one of the faculty. Dr Bjarnsson.”
“OK, where’s he?” Dakota said, standing up. She ran her fingers through her hair. Her phone rang. She looked at it, sighed and sent it to voicemail.
“I haven’t seen him since the game,” Melika said.
“Huh?”
“Yes, he was with the other man, Terry Hofstedder, who was interested in your boyfriend.”
“He was? And he’s knowledgeable about the rings?”
“The rings specifically? Are they some kind of heirloom. They looked pristine and new, hardly antiquities. I was thinking perhaps the runes might mean something but—”
“We know what they mean,” Dakota interjected.
“Oh, please tell me.”
Reika frowned. She picked up her phone and dialed.
“Where is she? Where is she? Where is she?” Alicia was panicking, blaming herself for the missing girl. Lilah rubbed her back. Nique was trying not to show her joy in not having to her ring back and forth.
Yes, she was worried about Dakota. But she was still getting her feet solid under herself first.
It sucked to lose the rings. It was like so many of her thoughts towards Hale and the girls were suddenly sanding against the grain of her brain. The rings made things easy.
She didn’t want to go through that again.
“My phone,” Casey said, hearing the ring from her bag across the room. Reika grabbed it. Her eyes lit up.
“Oh my god! Dakota! Are you OK?”
Everyone was on pins and needles until Reika handed the phone to Casey. “She asked to talk to you.”
“Please,” Casey said, sobering up from the marathon of sex. She pinched her nose and and Nique sat down to rub her shoulders. “Hi, Dakota?”
“What was the name of the scholar you called to learn about the rings?”
“Bijarnson?” Casey said, pronouncing the J as a j and not a y.
“He’s working with Hale’s stepfather,” Dakota said.
“Then we need to call Hale,” Casey said.
“I’m doing so. Love you, bye.”
“Love you too,” Casey said.
“She said she loves us?!” Alicia rushed over, grabbing Casey’s wrists and pulling. “Still loves us?”
Hale dashed across campus, having left the elder women at the vehicle. He checked his phone again and again, Dakota’s directions leading him straight back to the same offices he had visited earlier.
“Hi,” Dakota said.
She was lifted off the floor, spun in a circle, and dropped on her feet a second later. Hale picked up her hand and, “Ow!” shoved the ring down in just two attempts.
Melika giggled.
“No word on Coyote’s number three?” Dakota asked.
“Coyote?” Melika said.
“What do you know of trickster spirits?” Dakota asked. “Coyote is Native American, it seems he’s tied to the rings.”
“Well,” Melika said. “Loki is the shapeshifting trickster of Norse mythology. I know of him changing shape into a mare and other animals, but the coyote would be a leap. Even the Norse who made it to North America landed in Newfoundland, Canada. Coyote wouldn’t be a proper match.”
“You know about the rings?” Hale asked.
“I’m learning,” Melika said. “Dakota gave me some data, but it’s fractured and fanciful.”
“Here, this will help,” he said, pulling a ring from his suit pocket. He lifted Melika’s hand. She pulled back.
“Don’t stub my finger like you did Dakota’s, please,” Melika said.
“I’ll be gentle,” he promised.
“For the moment,” Dakota added, stifling a giggle. She was rolling her ring around her finger and breathing deep lungfuls. Melika raised her hand and Hale slid the ring down her middle finger.
“Hale?” Dakota said. “Wasn’t that supposed to go to the professor or the lawyer or—”
“No,” Hale said, grabbing Dakota’s cheek. “I know exactly where they’re supposed to go.” He picked up Melika’s left hand and revealed the last ring in his other. “This has to go back to Casey.”
“Technically that one was mine, originally. That one was Casey’s,” Dakota said, pointing to Melika.
Hale frowned, he had no ability to tell which one was which.
There was a quick shuffling before they headed out to call an Uber. Donna walked by him. She frowned, enviously, at the younger girls.
“Impatience and imprudence are not virtues,” she warned him.
“Anne’s left?” he asked.
“In a heartbeat,” Donna said.
“Fine,” Hale said. “I’ll do this my way.”
The Uber pulled up and Hale held the doors for the girls. Donna crossed her arms and watched them leave. She turned her eyes to a coyote, sitting teeth bared in the grass.
“Not my problem.”
Casey threw herself in a hug around Hale’s shoulders the moment he got the ring past her first knuckle.
“You’re done with the coyote’s request?” Reika asked, worriedly.
Hale eased Casey off of him and set the ring deep. “Fuck the coyote.”
Everyone looked at each other worriedly.
“Look,” he held up the keys to the Wilmington house. “We’ve got a plan and a goal. We’re not here for some power game and family faceoff.” He wrapped his hand around Melika’s shoulders. “And like every state, we’ve got to welcome a new girl.”
Dakota put her hand around Melika’s waist.
“Hi, you’ll love it here,” and kissed Melika on the lips. Melika blushed.
“Wait!” she said, before Ivy rushed up and kissed her. “I just, uh, ed this group, right?”
“Hell yeah,” Hale said sliding his hand to her ass.
“I’m not dressed for sex, can we go to my apartment first?”
“Oh, but I like the corporate badass girl-suit,” Casey said.
“I meant under the suit,” Melika said, blushing. She looked around, counted seven girls and said. “Oh my god.”
Terry’s car pulled into the Wilmington house driveway. He hadn’t been here in four years. Old Marcus loved the place, but the New York and Boston houses were more central to his work and projects. Miami was more of a vacation home, despite being a high rise condo. He wondered who had gotten that place.
“We’re here, thanks Anne,” Terry said into the speaker.
“Alright, he got the keys yesterday. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already there,” Anne said, obvious bitterness in her voice.
“He doesn’t seem to be,” Terry said. “But he’s traveling with a trailer and a bunch of women. There’s no way he makes it anywhere on time.”
“Bye now,” Anne said.
They hung up and Soren frowned.
“This place is huge,” he said.
“Six beds, four and a half baths, the kitchen/dining room is bigger than any of the apartments I could afford before the old man croaked.”
“You were renting in Midtown,” Soren said.
“Location, location, location,” Terry said. He saw the placard on the lawn announcing the gardening service. He jogged up to the front door and unlocked it. The was still the same, but he checked the tag from Anne to be certain.
“Now what?” Soren asked.
“He should be here pretty soon,” Terry said. “Stay ready.”
“I say we order takeout and maybe open a bottle in the cellar,” Soren said.
“Order whatever you want. No drinking until we celebrate,” Terry said. “We need to be sharper than him.”
“Feeling better?” Hale asked after being barred from Melika’s bedroom. She didn’t look any different, maybe a bit more eyeliner, and her tights were now white instead of flesh colored.
“Definitely,” she said.
“Definitely,” Casey said, wheeling out a small suitcase.
“His name is Baseball!” Ivy said, waving around a big stuffed bat.
“I named him when I was eight or something,” Melika said, blushing. “I can’t believe that’s a requirement, grown women don’t have plushies out.”
Ivy slapped Melika’s butt. “Heresy.” She flapped Baseball’s wings and flew him around the room.
“Stuffed bat?”
“She was my older sister’s,” Melika said. “Kalia had a huge goth phase. I was angry she hadn’t named her so I started calling her Baseball and then Kalia thought it was too cute and just gave her to me.”
“Sister? Kalia?” Ivy asked. “Anyone called dibs?”
“Yes? She’s now a 35 year-old mother of three,” Melika pointed to the picture of her nieces and nephew on the fridge.
“Oh what cuties!” Ivy said, flapping Baseball over to the photograph.
“She’s alright in the head, isn’t she?” Melika asked.
“She’s what’s going to happen to all of us,” Casey said, solemnly, “Once Hale finishes fucking our brains out.”
Melika blushed madly.
Melika held Hale’s hand as they walked out of her lobby to Betty parked on the street.
“We’re all getting in the cab?” she asked.
“Gotta try it at least once,” Ivy said, flying Baseball into the back bench and tripping over Lilah’s knees to stretch out on a series of laps. Dakota, Reika, and Melika were the smallest, they were riding up front. The back bench was a full and twisted mess of five girls. Casey sat on Nique’s lap and Ivy was horizontal. Plus all the stuffed animals tumbled up around them.
“You get cuddle,” Dakota offered it. “One day deal, then it’s up for grabs.”
“Cuddle?”
“Up next to Hale,” Reika explained.
“Also you’re in charge of road head,” Alicia teased.
Melika blinked. “Isn’t that like crazy dangerous.”
“I have quite a bit of practice,” Hale said.
Still nervous, she reached across, retaking Hale’s hand to climb up and slide in tight against him. She quickly monopolized the middle seatbelt to boos from the peanut gallery.
“I can do a road handjob?” she said, still not confident about that. Reika smooshed in on her right and Dakota climbed in last.
“Alright, local...” Hale said.
“I was born in Hawaii and only moved here for college,” she countered.
“Cool off,” Alicia leaned forward, massaging Melika’s shoulders. “You can’t do this wrong.”
“Are you sure?!” Melika asked.
“110%,” Hale said, putting Betty into gear. “All I was asking is, we’ve got time to play. Where’s a good place to have some fun in this town.”
“Oh,” Melika said, losing the wind from her sales again.
“What do you think?” Lilah asked Alicia, hanging back as the others moved through the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Alicia had her head tilted back as she looked over the whale skeleton.
“I’m going to stop calling fat girls land whales, this is impressive,” Alicia said.
“Not what I meant?”
“About Melika? Cute for a nerd,” Alicia said. “I can’t wait for her and Reika to get together.”
“No, about ditching the coyote...” Lilah said.
Alicia shrugged. “You saw Dakota and Nique. You wouldn’t want to be put through that, I don’t want to be put through that. He made the right call.”
This was the first date Melika had been on in... Oh my god, three years?! That couldn’t be right. But it was. How had she let those trashy romance novels pile up. Just standing next to Hale, watching him get excited by the museum exhibits was getting her wet beyond belief.
The other girls were giving them a berth, but not a wide one. Every now and then she felt fingers run across her skin or through her hair. A little turn would reveal the smiling face, welcoming or mischievous, that was there. Hale was getting the same treatment.
“You look distracted,” Hale said, squeezing her fingers.
“I... Very,” she itted.
“Need your head cleared?” he asked, with the kind of smirk Alicia or Ivy would often wear. Melika was amazed her knees didn’t knock. Hale tapped an elbow to his left, turned to see Nique. “I need a lookout.”
Nique smirked and blushed. “Of course. Bon appetit.” She rushed off as the party scout.
Melika was led, as discreetly as could be, to the nearest ladies room. Nique exited to meet them, flashed thumb’s up and positioned herself at the hang of the door as Hale led Melika inside.
Head on a swivel, heart in her throat, she hissed. “You can’t be in here.”
“You want to do this in the men’s room?” he asked.
She thought for a second. “It would be fairer to anyone else who has to use it.”
“OK,” he said, pulling on her hand. “We won’t have a lookout though.”
She was conflicted, but didn’t fight being led to the men’s room next door. There was an old man washing his hands. He watched Hale lead Melika to the toilet, and whistled appreciatively as he left.
Melika froze, eyes wide, as Hale put her hands on her hips. He reached up and unbuttoned her blazer.
“He was proud of you...” she said.
“Well, did you see the girl I’m with?” Hale said, rolling his eyes.
Melika looked down at herself as Hale opened her blouse and revealed her top shelf bra. Her medium breasts were laced in a cream half-shelf, lifted and perky. Her nipples tenting the thin fabric.
“This is gorgeous,” he said. He had planned to just open her top and hike up her skirt, but she’d clearly put effort and choice into her underthings. He swept the blouse and blazer from her shoulders, draping them over the divider and running his hands back down to her breasts.
Melika was turned to the side, letting him rub the mounds of flesh and knead her nipples. His hand went to her ass and the zipper of her skirt. As the skirt fell down her legs Hale grinned to see the garter, stocking and panty set revealed. She stepped her stilettos out over the fallen skirt and pulled his face in for a kiss.
“I’m not sure about this. I feel too exposed,” Melika said.
Hale responded by starting a fresh assault on her mouth. “I feel right about this and I’m going to expose you further.”
He slid her panties down to her knees and touched her gently. She grabbed both of his elbows, bit the inside of her cheek, and tried not to wail like her body wanted her to. His two fingers pushed up and found the smooth inside folds. She was wet, dripping in anticipation and exhilaration.
“You gotta get your pants off,” she said. “Please.”
“Well, if you’re going to throw around words like ‘Please’, how can I deny?”
He unbuckled, unbuttoned, unzipped, and undressed to his knees. He moved her hand to his hard cock. “You did this to me,” he said, sweetly into her ear.
She melted, the edges and points of his thick cock against her palm. “I didn’t mean to. I didn’t know... God, I’m so horny.”
She reclined herself back against the wall of the bathroom and slowly lifted her right leg to get swept up. Her knee was caught on his elbow and she learned she was more flexible than she thought as he pushed against her. Claustrophobic in the best way, she was trapped between Hale and the divider. She pulled him to her pussy.
“Oh my god,” she grunted as he pushed in.
His cock invaded the insides of her cunt with a sizzle of fireworks. There were sparkles on the back of her eyelids. Hale smirked and began to hump her harder.
She opened her eyes, just long enough to grab his head, line up their mouths, and kiss him harder than she had kissed anyone before. She added to Hale’s force, rolling her hips, flexing her back muscles, rising onto her toes, but she was a dime and he was a hundred dollar bill. She was overwhelmed, physically and so she was overwhelmed emotionally.
She lost control of her quiet. Each breath was a strangled wheeze or an echoing gasp. Her nails dug into the back of his neck. His teeth were on her shoulder. The pressure of his cock swelled and her pussy walls answered back with their own contractions.
“Hale...” she managed to speak, only barely. He kissed her again and her body seized, unused to pleasure for so long her brain swam in ecstasy. She was a ragdoll to him and that made her cum once again.
With the peak of her own orgasm, she encouraged his. They’re kissed broke. She heard the breakage in his voice, the staggered breathing, the shakes in his muscles.
“Cum for me, Hale,” she said. “Cum up in me.”
Her saccharine words and his furious effort ended the struggle. She was pinned, tight, as he began to shake and spray into her. She closed her eyes, bit her lip, and rode out the cum.
“Oh my god,” she said, panting, as he slid from her, the trail of their lovemaking running stickily down the inside of her thigh.
“That’s just the taste,” he said, tapping his ring to hers. “Wanna see some real magic?”
She grinned, looking up at him as he brought her hand to his flagging shaft. Grinning, impatient, he loved seeing the surprise look in their eyes when—
“Hale!”
Hale had jerked back, tripped over the toilet and fallen ass down on the paper dispenser. It was all he could do to catch the door wall and not tumble to the floor.
“Oh my god?!” she gasped.
“Hale?!” Nique rushed in.
He looked down at his still tired cock. His head was still stuck in the fog. His jaw and bones still shook in the shock and aftershock. Nique grabbed Melika’s suit from the next stall. It had fallen off when Hale had crashed. She knocked on the door.
“Meli?” Nique said. “Your jacket and skirt fell in the next toilet.”
Embarrassed, mortified, and worried. It had been a chore and a parade of judgmental stairs getting new clothes to Melika and then smuggling her out of the museum.
Hale was in no state to drive. Alicia got behind the wheel. Melika and Nique brought Hale to the trailer so he could lay down.
“What happened?” Nique asked, for the sixth time.
“I touched his cock after he came,” she said. “He must’ve been sensitive.”
“It didn’t, poof, back up? Tres vite?”
“Tres vite? Really fast?” Melika shook her head. Hale’s phone rang. Nique answered it.
“Where are we going?” Dakota asked.
“Uh, somewhere private?” Nique asked Melika.
“You have lots of camping gear? We could go to the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s at least a gorgeous drive and—”
“Nowhere with coyotes,” Nique said.
“No,” Hale said, sitting up and groaning. “That’s a wonderful idea. We need to talk to the desert rat.”
Melika frowned.
“You’re not all crazy are you?” she asked.
“Only in the good ways,” Hale said. Nique delivered the destination. The trailer lurched into the gear.
Four hours and change of hiking and the nine all stopped under the thundering mist of a beautiful waterfall. Hale began setting up tents. Alicia unpacked a camp stove. Slowly, inevitably, every girl stripped down to her bikini and kept stripping.
Hale reached out and slapped Melika’s butt. “Bottoms too.”
“I’ve never been skinny-dipping,” she said.
“Didn’t you grow up on an island paradise?” Ivy asked.
“We have to be naked in Hawaii someday,” Casey agreed.
“I didn’t have friends who would do this kinda thing,” Melika said.
“What? Boys?” Alicia said. “Boys would’ve killed to see you naked.”
Melika blushed, smiled wanly, and pulled off her bikini bottoms. She looked at Hale who, at last, removed his trunks.
“How’s your penis?”
“You want to kiss and make it better,” he asked.
“Yes,” she said, blushing furiously. The girls cheered.
Hale grabbed Melika by the hair and they all marched into the shadow pool under the waterfall. Lilah and Ivy were both excited to explore. Pushing the newest addition, Melika, to spend her first day front and center. Hale stood under the spray, ed by Alicia and everyone frolicked lightly.
“Melika!” Alicia called out. “I believe you owed him a kiss!”
Melika waded over and knelt with Alicia down at Hale’s feet. Alicia held the cock towards Melika. “Let me guess, never had a threesome either.”
“No, I did, once,” she said. “It was two boys. I didn’t figure out how to say no.”
“Well, I don’t need to hear about that unless you need to talk about it,” Hale said. Melika shook her head, happy to leave the experience in the past. Alicia grabbed Melika’s head and fed Hale’s cock into the Hawaiian girl’s mouth.
Alicia kissed Melika’s bulging cheek and grinned. “You have an eye for beauty,” Alicia said, grabbing Melika’s breast and running her hand down Melika’s back to the ass. Alicia cocked her neck, sucking in one of Hale’s balls while Melika slurped along the shaft.
Melika was trying her best not to be overwhelmed again, trying her best to give a good blowjob, trying her best to accept Alicia’s affection. And Alicia was very affectionate. Melika had never considered herself straight straight, but this was the first time she had the curious side of her indulged. Alicia was just the first of the seven other girls who’d soon have their hands on, and in, Melika.
She looked up, the spray of the waterfall blinding her to Hale’s face. She hand to get her cues from the way his hips moved and his fingers traveled through her hair.
Alicia stroked Melika’s pussy and her own. Both were wet, eager, and both realized they were enjoying themselves. Hale watched with intrigue as Alicia leaned back to offer herself to Melika.
Melika let herself be dragged off of Hale’s cock and her face brought down to Alicia’s impressive tits. Alicia went over Melika’s head to resume the blowjob. Hale was content to roll and groan with their games.
Melika was licking and nibbling on a nipple. Alicia’s fingers rippled inside Melika’s warm flesh. Melika could feel Alicia was pushing a finger into her own pussy too. Their fingers wound and twisted, exploring and sending shivers of pleasure back and forth.
Hale grinned, enjoying the sight of two beautiful women loving each other while they loved him. And he had six more to boot. He was certain he had made the right decision. He didn’t care for the power games or the magic, just the warmth and the family of their little tribe.
Alicia and Melika’s mouths wrapped in tandem around his cock, like they were making out but his cockhead was in the way of their dueling tongues. Melika was clearly cumming. She had an inhale, inhale, gasping exhale rhythm when she was losing control. Hale slid his fingers tighter in their hair.
“C’mon,” Alicia said, recognizing Hale’s telltale telegraphing easily. She grabbed Melika by the tits and dragged her chest in line with Hale’s cock. Melika double-handed the cock, looking up, catching Hale’s eyes in the shadow of the falling water. Hale’s head threw backwards and he gargled as he cum lanced up and onto Melika’s tits.
“Oh wow,” she said, gasping and squealing as Alicia attacked her breasts, determined to slurp up any cum before the waterfall could rinse it all away.
“Oh god,” Hale said, staggering out of the mist.
He gestured and moved to shore where Nique was grilling burgers on a propane stove and Reika was slapping together the fixings onto sandwich bread.
“That was gorgeous,” Casey said.
“You want to go next?” he asked, grabbing her hand and ring.
“You sure?”
“I got to know,” he said.
“Hale!” Eight voices squealed and chased into the water as he crashed back into the pool from Casey’s hand.
“It’s been a week!” Soren growled at Terry. “I have preliminaries to finish. Classes to prepare for.”
“He’ll be here,” Terry said, stomping back and forth in the kitchen. The place needed tidying, they hadn’t been considerate houseguests. They were worse company, especially to each other.
“Didn’t your Dean give you dispensation when you told her about our target?” Terry said.
“Dispensation isn’t unlimited control,” Soren said. “I’m up for tenure this year. I need more than her vote.”
“He had a chance to end this,” Terry said, and—
There was an alert. Someone had keyed the code into the gate.
“Excellent,” Terry said. “No witnesses for you to complain about, right?”
“You canceled the landscapers, so I guess that’s true,” Soren said.
Terry went to a back cabinet, keyed in on a pad and then unlocked a padlock. He pulled out a bolt action hunting rifle.
“You know how to use one of those?”
“Trigger, barrel,” he said, pointing. “It’s pretty much idiot proof.”
“Don’t hundreds of idiots shoot themselves every year?” Soren said.
“Fucking European,” Terry said. He walked to the front door. Saw the shadow of people in the frosted glass of the front entrance. The door unlocked and Terry raised his rifle.
“Terry?!” Linda shouted, going white-faced.
Terry dropped the gun and Soren jumped back as he saw Terry’s finger flex. Luckily, the gun hadn’t been stored loaded. The hammer fell to nothing. Terry jumped back and dropped it.
“Oh my god!” Ivy said, shaking.
Alicia barreled in past Linda and slid on the hardwood, grabbing up the gun and rushing back from Terry.
“I’m filing for divorce,” Linda said.
Terry looked down. The runic ring around his wife’s finger set his skin to red.
“Well fuck,” Soren said.
Hale stepped in, pulled his mother into a hug. “Terry, get off my property.”
“You didn’t say he’d have a gun!” Alicia shouted.
“I didn’t know,” Hale said. “I figured he’d be here because it was the only place he knew I’d end up.”
“Hale, listen—”
“Leave, now,” Hale said.
“Listen, you little shit. Those rings are—”
“Casey, call 911.” Hale said.
“We’ve already dialed,” Dakota, Casey, and Melika all had the phones to their ears.
“I’m leaving,” Soren said. He stopped in front of Melika. “If you want to—”
“Not with you,” Melika said, hiding her ring behind herself. Soren just nodded and rushed to leave.
“Terry?”
“This isn’t over,” Terry said.
“And turn to the right,” the police photographer said. Terry Hofstedder did as his picture was taken again. He was led to an interview room. A phone was delivered to him.
“Hello, Mr Hofstedder. Anne Kipling here,” she said. “I see you’ve got in a bit of trouble.”
“Do you know a good criminal lawyer?” he asked.
“I’ll recommend somebody,” she said. “But first, what were you thinking? This pre-nup is trash.”
“I was supposed to have the ring,” he said.
He dropped his head to the steel table.
“Thanks for coming, Mom,” Hale said, giving Linda a big hug.
“Hush now,” she said, she rolled her ring around her finger. “Let’s see my... daughters-in-law.”
Casey was the first to rush over and give Linda a big hug. They had hangtime for a moment, almost kissing.
“The ring,” Casey said.
“Right, the ring,” Linda said. Hale put out his hand and Linda handed it back to him. “I’ll need that for the proceedings. I don’t want to lose my nerves.”
“I certainly don’t mind,” Ivy said. “Hale’s looks are genetic.”
Linda chuckled as Ivy hugged her and evaded the girl’s kiss. Dakota, Alicia, Reika, Nique, Lilah, and Melika all hugged her in succession.
“And you’re getting another ring every nine days?” Linda said.
“Nine’s the magic number,” Hale said, rolling it around. “But it’s been 10 days. This might be the last one,” he said. “I’ll need to find Old Marcus’s old notes or journals to know for certain.”
“Well, I hope all you girls are ready to be judged,” Linda said. “I only really know this one and this one—” she grabbed Casey and Reika. “The rest of you I need to know are great for my boy.”
“I’m up to the challenge,” Alicia said, confidently.
The rest of the girls had different levels of nerves.
“We’re going to head down to the beach, Mom,” Hale said.
“I’ll head to the hotel,” she said. “You birds needs to enjoy your love nest.”
“You sure?” Ivy said. “We don’t mind the company.”
“I’ll be by tomorrow,” she said, kissing Hale on the cheek. “Keep the ring free for me.”
“Will do,” he said. “Sorry things didn’t work out with Terry.”
“I know you are,” she said. “But we also know who he is now. This is for the best.”
She swatted Hale on the butt. “Give ’em hell girls.”
“And a bit of heaven,” Dakota said.
“Oh, you’re precious,” Linda said. “Hale, eat this girl right up.”
“I’ll do my best,” he said, laughing. Hale walked his mom to her car. She stopped before she turned the key.
“You can probably transfer your college credits to the local community college,” she said. “Casey too.”
“We’re on it,” he said.
“It’s almost September,” she said. “Don’t leave it too long now.”
He waved, and the girls waved from the doorway, as Linda drove off downtown Wilmington.
“Fucking finally!” Ivy said, gleefully stripping her top off. Linda honked from the street and Ivy rushed into the house.
The party moved through the house and onto the beach. It was private, to the six beach houses that dotted the peninsula. No one else had privacy like them. No one else had rings.
“Wow,” Melika said, watching Hale lay out the towels and blankets. He was surrounded by the beautiful beach bums he’d collected. Topless, Lilah strummed her guitar. The girls began to dance and sing, moving down to the beach. Hale sat and watched, sitting at the grass line, grinning in glee.
“This wasn’t good enough,” said the Coyote.
Hale didn’t turn to see the critter in the grass.
“But it’s a start,” Hale said. “A truce, for now?”
“A truce you’ll break when you’re called upon,” the Coyote said.
“We’ll see what the future brings,” Hale said.
“A truce then,” the Coyote said. “Now run down there and fuck one of them.”
“No,” Hale said, standing up. “I’m going to walk down there and make love to them all.”
