Mind Rape
Chapter 3: Hunters on the Prowl
Morning light filtered through the floor-to-ceiling windows of their sleek downtown loft, casting long shadows across minimalist furniture and expensive art. Charles woke first, his arm draped possessively over Camilla’s waist. She stirred, turned toward him with that slow, knowing smile they shared only with each other, and pulled him closer. Their bodies moved together with familiar, hungry ease — not tender, but perfectly synchronized, the same dark rhythm they had perfected since childhood.
Afterward they lay tangled in the sheets, sharing a single cigarette. Camilla exhaled smoke toward the ceiling and murmured, “We haven’t hunted in almost three weeks. I’m starting to feel… restless.”
Charles traced a finger down her spine. “The hunger needs feeding. Last time was too easy. I want something with real weight. Something that matters when it breaks.”
Camilla’s eyes gleamed. “A pair, maybe. Something bonded. Something pure we can ruin together.”
They both smiled at the same time — the same cold, intimate smile that had sealed their fate years ago.
Later they dressed and took the elevator down to the underground garage. The sleek black van waited, polished and anonymous under the harsh fluorescent lights. Camilla slid behind the wheel in her simple black long-sleeve top with its high neck and loose fit, paired with dark slim jeans and nondescript sneakers — clothes chosen so she could vanish into any crowd. Charles, riding shotgun, wore a plain gray hoodie pulled low over a black t-shirt and dark cargo pants, the hood ready to be raised at a moment’s notice.
Charles lit a t and ed it over. They cruised the city streets with the windows cracked, smoke curling out into the warm spring air, feeling the familiar rush of superiority wash over them.
They were gods moving among insects.
As they ed ordinary people going about ordinary lives, they reminisced with quiet pride. The college girl from last month. The jogger on the trail at dusk. The construction worker who had begged so beautifully once they bent him over that chair. Each memory was catalogued and savored — the way fear tasted different on every victim, the way the gentle first act made their bodies betray them, the way the brutal second act left them shattered but still breathing.
Camilla took a long drag and laughed softly. “They all think they’re safe until they’re not. That’s the best part.”
Charles nodded, eyes scanning the sidewalks with predatory patience. “Today feels different. I want something that fights back a little. Something worth breaking.”
They were drifting through a quiet residential shopping district when they saw them.
Elena and Sophia had just stepped out of the grocery store, bags swinging from their linked arms, still laughing about something small and private. The mother-daughter bond was unmistakable — the easy way they leaned into each other, the way Sophia bumped her mother’s shoulder playfully while their arms stayed comfortably locked.
Something primal stirred in both twins at the same moment.
Charles’s voice dropped low. “Look at that. Real love. Real closeness. The kind that thinks it can protect itself. And the age gap… perfect. Definitely mother and daughter.”
Camilla’s eyes narrowed, a hungry smile curving her lips. “We could tear that apart. Make the mother watch while we break the daughter… then make the daughter watch while we break her. A perfect circuit.”
Their eyes met across the front seat. The hunger was mutual, immediate, and absolute.
They didn’t hesitate.
Camilla kept the van rolling at a smooth, unhurried pace, guiding it alongside Elena and Sophia as the two women walked toward their car, bags swinging, still laughing.
Camilla lowered her window, her face shifting instantly into a charming, disarming smile.
“Excuse me,” she called out, voice light and sweet. “I think you dropped this back at the .”
Elena turned, polite and unsuspecting. Sophia smiled back, helpful by nature.
In that single heartbeat, the mask dropped.
The side door slid open with a whisper. Charles lunged out with practiced speed. His strong hands seized Elena first, clamping over her mouth and yanking her backward into the van with brutal force. The grocery bags spilled across the floor as she struggled, her muffled scream vibrating against his palm. Camilla leaned across the seat and pressed the taser firmly against Elena’s side. The woman convulsed violently, a strangled gasp escaping before her muscles locked rigid.
Sophia barely had time to comprehend what was happening. She lunged for the door, mouth opening to scream — but Charles was already turning. He grabbed her by the waist and shoved her in right next to her mother. Camilla was ready — she pressed the taser firmly against Sophia’s neck. The girl jerked wildly, a choked sound dying in her throat as her body went rigid.
Charles climbed back in and slammed the door shut. Camilla never stopped driving. While the van merged smoothly into evening traffic, Charles turned his attention to the women with calm, practiced precision. First, the tasers had done their job. Now the duct tape. With quick, efficient movements he secured their wrists behind their backs using thick silver duct tape — tight loops pulled while they were still stunned and twitching. No gags were needed. The women could still breathe, still whimper, still stare at each other in wide-eyed horror, but they could not scream loud enough to be heard outside the van.
Next, he dragged Elena to the rear wall of the van and secured her upright with the heavy straps already hanging from the ceiling — one across her chest, another around her waist. He did the same with Sophia, positioning her on the other side of the van, in front of her mother so they were forced to face each other. Only then did he gather the scattered grocery bags, stuffing them neatly into a side pouch.
Finally, he reached up and switched off the interior light, plunging the rear of the van into darkness.
Charles and Camilla looked at each other across the front seat, eyes bright with shared anticipation. The hunt was calling. And they were starving.
The sleek black van disappeared into the flow of traffic, carrying Elena and Sophia — and their forgotten groceries — toward an evening that would shatter their world forever.
No one in the parking lot had noticed a thing.
