Instructive Chemistry

Sam looked at the classroom with disdain. It was small, almost as small as her High School science rooms were, and definitely more run down than the lecture halls had been at State. She didn’t want to be at the Community College, but unfortunately for her she had spent more time partying and cozying up with the cute football players than she had studying. She had never been a diligent student and the lack of studying had been enough to cause her to drop well into academic probation. She had been hoping to stay on campus, but Daddy wasn’t willing to spend any more money on a six figure tuition until she proved that she could buckle down.

There was something inherently hilarious about that. Sam knew, just as well as her father, that unlike any of her siblings she wasn’t destined for anything greater than being someone’s trophy wife. She was fit, doing cheer and gymnastics for most of her life would do that, but not good enough to the Olympics and ‘too prestigious’ to be a professional cheerleader. She was hot, but at 5’7” and DD cup breasts, she was too short and too busty to be a model. She couldn’t act, they had tried. She also wasn’t that smart, though that could largely be blamed on how much time cheer had taken up from her studies and how easy it was to classes with a scoop-neck top. Fucking creepy Mr. Horrell.

Honestly, if her last name hadn’t been Norcross, she would’ve considered a career as a stripper or in porn, but Daddy wouldn’t let that fly. He wouldn’t even consider letting her stoop to being a secretary, which was super hypocritical given that’s how he had met his second and third wives.

Which just left trophy wives. The problem was who the fuck was going to be looking for a trophy wife at the Community College? It seemed stupid, but Sam wasn’t in a place to argue. She was here to get good enough at studying to get the hell out.

Which also meant that she had to get up super early, or at least early for her, and go to her 9 AM Chemistry class. Angrily, she made her way to the back of the classroom, pulled out her notebook and pen, slapped them on the desk and slumped into the seat.

The only small blessing was that she hadn’t run into anyone she went to high school wi…

“Sam Norcross?” said a voice.

Shit.

She looked up and found exactly who she didn’t want to see. Noah Gibson, certified nerd and creep. Tall, gangly, and without a spec of muscle to be found. Noah had been the junior manager for the football team her senior year, tracking things like field goal percentages and RBI’s or whatever. He had clearly taken the position to try and get close to the cheerleaders, evidenced by his tutoring and eventual dating of C-lister Emma Adams, which put him just one step removed from Horrell in Sam’s mind. At least he had gotten his teeth straightened and thinner glasses since the last time she had seen him.

Except, shit, what had he tutored Emma in? Science, wasn’t it? Fuck, he might be helpful.

So putting aside her natural disgust she gave him a warm smile.

“Noah?” Sam said in her cheeriest voice, “Wow, I haven’t seen you in forever. What are you doing here?”

“Graduated early, but wanted to stay close to home to help my parents out. What about you? Didn’t you get accepted to State?”

Sam felt her smile grow a little brittle at that. She had hoped that no one would comment on that particular fall from grace, but given that she was going to the community college that her high school fed into, she had known it wasn’t likely. So, she pulled one of her cover stories out.

“The divorce hit Daddy pretty hard, so I moved home to help keep his spirits up.”

“Isn’t your dad already re-married?” Noah asked.

Sam smiled a bit wider while she ground her teeth. “Well, yes. But he wasn’t when I made that choice.”

Noah nodded as if that made perfect sense and then sat down in the seat right next to her.

Sam wanted to chew him out, but then the teacher walked in and she completely lost Noah’s attention. Nerds might stare at breasts, but they would never ogle them half as hard as they would a chalkboard.

* * *

It was three weeks into the semester and Sam, to her complete surprise, wasn’t failing Chemistry. In fact, she was sitting at a respectable B- even. Most of that had to do with the teacher insisting on partner work and Noah invariably being her partner. He was still a complete nerd who she wanted nothing to do with after the class, but he was helpful.

Still, her grades were liable to change though given the first test was approaching and Sam wouldn’t be able to copy off Noah’s work like she had on so much of the homework. More damningly, the chemistry teacher was a woman and seemed completely immune to scoop-tops.

“Well if you’re worried,” Noah said, “We could always do some study sessions before the test.”

Sam nearly slapped Noah before she ed that he probably actually meant to study during their study sessions instead of it being some code for getting handsy with each other.

“I’m free this afternoon?” Sam said instead, “My last class lets out at 2:30”

“Great! We can meet at the library!”

Sam sighed with relief. A public space like the library? Would make sure Noah didn’t do anything creepy and would make sure he and her father would never have to interact.

* * *

“Chemical bonding is just playing matchmaker,” Noah said, pointing at a molecule. “Each of the atoms have a number of bonds they’re looking for, based on how many unpaired electrons they have, and they make connections to fill in the gaps.”

Sam laughed despite herself, pointing at a mess of C’s, H’s, and O’s, “I think if dating was half as intertwined as that was, there’d be a lot more drama.”

Noah laughed good naturedly, “I suppose. But if you think of each letter like a family and the unpaired electrons like kids, or parents, who are single and looking for connections with another family it might make more sense.”

Sam tilted her head, vaguely making sense of what he was saying, but it didn’t quite click.

“I guess. But all the molecules Dr. Kreutzer has been showing us haven’t had any unpaired eleketrons,”

“Electrons”

“Yeah, those. How are any new connections made?”

Noah blinked and then nodded slowly, “Ah. Those are the end results, we’re talking about how we get to the end results. How those, uh, ‘families’, fit together in the first place. Perhaps a practical example.”

He reached into his bag and fumbled around for a minute before pulling out a small spray bottle.

“This is a new chemical I’ve been making,” he said holding it up.

“You can make chemicals?” Sam asked skeptically.

“There’s a lot more to it than this,” Noah said, drawing some letters and lines between them and completely ignoring her comment, “but at the end there’s a few unpaired electrons. These are your metaphorical single of the family. Now, when this is released into the air, it’ll latch onto other unpaired electrons and form a new compound.”

“But where are those unpaired electrons?”

“Oh, they can be anywhere!” Noah enthused. “Some are already in existing relationships, unhappy and looking for new connections. Others are just feely hanging around waiting for a connection. That’s what Dr. Kreutzer was referring to when she was talking about radicals. But these are specifically designed to only interact with molecules in the brain.”

“The brain,” Sam asked. “Isn’t that danger…”

“Potentially,” Noah agreed before spraying her in the face.

* * *

Sam blinked her eyes and looked around. Noah was doodling on a sheet of paper.

“Here,” he said, sliding the paper over to her. “Try figuring out how these molecules are connected.”

Dutifully, Sam took the sheet and looked at the first compound: C2H4. Dutifully, she wrote out two carbons, each hybridized with four unpaired electrons each. Then she drew out the hydrogens with one electron each. From there it was just a game of ‘Connect the Dots’. Everything had to be tied together, each atom connected to the greater molecule. Once all the atoms were connected, the carbons still had one unpaired dot each, which meant they formed a double bond. She then took her drawing and redrew it neater and to the side.

“Perfect!” Noah enthused.

Having him praise her like that made Sam really happy. Or maybe it was just the fact that she was finally getting this.

“You take this sheet,” he said, pointing to the paper again, “And try the rest of them. I’ll double check them when we meet up at your house tomorrow.”

“Wait, meet up… “ Sam started.

“Oh, shoot. Look at the time. It’s nearly six. I’ve got to get home. See you tomorrow!”

Sam nodded numbly before looking at the clock. It was six? Where had the time gone?

The curiosity was easily, almost too easily, brushed aside. “Shit,” Sam thought. “I’m late for dinner.

* * *

The next night was Thursday, which was traditionally when Sam had the house to herself. Her Daddy liked to go to the local trivia contest and insisted her step-mom came with. Granted, given that her second Step-mother made Sam look like a genius, she was there to look cute and giggle happily.

Surprisingly, Sam had done the extra practice worksheet Noah had given her and felt very confident about how well she had done on it. She hadn’t done her own science homework since… she couldn’t really when. But she had wanted to do this one. She wanted to do what Noah told her.

And it might actually be the first assignment she felt confident on. At five thirty, the doorbell rang and she made her way to the front door. Noah was there, looking nerdy as fuck with his backpack slung over his shoulder and prominent glasses. He gave her a once over and she fought down the urge to get offended. She needed him to this test, if he wanted to look at her in her baggy sweats she lazed around home in, he could go right ahead.

“Noah,” she said, stepping out of the door frame, “come in.”

“Thanks,” he said, stepping past her. “Before we get started can you tell me where the bathroom is?”

“Yeah sure,” Sam said with a nod of her head, “it’s down the hallway, first door on the right. Anything else?” She turned back to face Noah again and found him with an odd spray bottle in his hand.

“Just this,” he said, and sprayed her.

* * *

Sam gently shook her head as she came back to herself in the shower, just finishing shaving her legs. She couldn’t quite how she had gotten here, but she easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside. Noah was on his way over and she wanted to look good for him.

Well, not him exactly, he was a bit of a nerd, but she prided herself on always looking her best. She stepped out of the shower and noted the time. 6:15. She had 45 minutes to finish getting ready, which should just barely be enough.

She dried her hair and then carefully gave it that blow out look. She added some make up, enough to enhance, but carefully avoiding some of the more… enticing reds for her lipstick. She might want to look nice, but she wasn’t about to let the nerd get any ideas. It would be a delicate line to walk given that the only outfit that seemed anything resembling acceptable for the evening was a summer dress. It wasn’t really a risque wear, but given that she had to wear a push-up bra and thong with it, it pushed into teasy a bit more than she might be comfortable with someone so… Noah.

She’d have to tone it down. Not enough time to redo her nails, but she certainly could choose some tamer heels. Low wedges seemed to be the right option here. She looked at herself in the mirror and gave a quick twirl. Cute, the entire thing looked cute. Well, ignoring the massive amount of cleavage she had on display. But that was inevitable. It wasn’t like she had any frumpy sweats she could cover up in. That just wasn’t who she was. She was the type of person who liked to always look her best.

The doorbell rang and she quickly walked, never running, to the door. Outside stood Noah and Sam had to grab the door as an unfamiliar sensation swept over her.

Noah looked hot.

He wasn’t her usual type at all, but there was something about the tall and thin look that was making her weak in the knees. Or maybe it was the glasses? Normally they put her off, screamed nerd, but Noah’s seemed to frame his face and make his eyes move from thoughtful to piercing.

No, it made him look put together and comfortable with himself, from how he leaned against the door frame and the casualness with which his backpack was slung over his shoulder.

“Uh, hi,” Sam eventually said.

“Hi,” Noah said with a radiant smile. “May I come in?”

“Oh, of course!” Sam said, feeling very foolish as she stepped aside. She had been so busy ogling Noah that she had completely forgotten her manners. “I figured we’d get set up in the dining room? It’s right over here.”

“Thanks,” he said, easily following after her. She could feel his eyes on her butt and knowing he was watching her did things for her that she didn’t think a look could do. She found herself putting a bit more strut in her step, leaning on what she ed from her modeling classes and cursing that she had chosen heels so tame. She almost stopped herself when she ed that Noah was a nerd, someone she looked down upon, but another thought immediately bubbled up to counteract. He was here to help her, she should be nice to him.

And besides, she was the type of person who liked to always look her best.

The dining table was large enough that they could have sat comfortably apart from each other, but that wouldn’t have done well for tutoring. Noah pulled a chair over next to Sam so they could go over the practice problems he had given her and she found herself leaning into him.

So she could see the sheet better. It had nothing to do with wanting to brush against him.

Nothing at all.

After the worksheet was reviewed, they started going over the other material on the test. And somehow it all made way more sense than it had previously. It was just… easier to learn. It had to be Noah, his voice… HIS METHOD OF TEACHING she meant, that made it so much simpler to understand. And his proximity just made her so… hot. And wet. Fuck, she hadn’t been this horny since… she couldn’t when. It was really weird being that horny with so much science stuff rattling around, but whatever. She was here for it. And before she knew it two hours had just flown by, it was nine, and Noah was packing up to go.

It made her unexpectedly sad. She should have been relieved to get this nerd out of her house, but it had been so nice working so closely with him. She had found a surprising amount of muscle hidden in that wiry frame. It had surprised her that his arms were firm under those ill-fitting shirts. She had just kinda assumed that anyone who wasn’t swole like a linebacker wasn’t all that muscled.

“Well,” he said with a smile, “It was a pleasure working with you. I’m sure you’re going to ace the test tomorrow.”

Sam numbly nodded. She did feel confident about the test, but that was secondary to all the other feelings she was feeling. Mainly horny, but with a small amount of concern that she he could tell.

He gave her one more look over which made her knees buckle ever so slightly before heading out the door. He hadn’t even made it to the car before Sam was off racing to her room and digging through her dresser for her vibrator.

Eagerly, she stripped out of her clothes and dropped her panties before putting the toy to work. And while normally she might imagine built footballers or Jason Mamoa, tonight her fantasies were filled with Noah. It was weird but she easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside.

* * *

It was three PM when Sam’s phone buzzed. She all but dropped the notes she had been working on before ing that she was in the library and with Noah. She might not care about being loud in the library, but he certainly would. So instead she placed the pen and notebook on the table and quickly fished her phone out of her purse.

Dr. Kreutzer had said their grades would be in later this afternoon and here they were. Sam could barely contain her excitement over her grades. It was a new feeling, made her almost as jittery as she was before her first date, but it wasn’t unwelcome.

Especially when she logged into the Portal and found that she had gotten an A- on the test. Sam couldn’t the last time she had earned an A on a test.

“Noah,” she said, rapidly tapping his arm. “Noah look!”

Dutifully he looked over with those thoughtful eyes. God, Noah looked hot.

His eyes glanced over the phone and his mouth broke into a radiant smile. And Sam’s grades were forgotten for just a moment as she reveled in how much Noah looked hot.

But then she shook out of it and smiled wider back it him, “Thankyouthankyouthankyou.” She said bouncing in her seat a little. She had to stop before she bounced too much given how tight this dress was. It was impractical for pretty much anything besides sitting around and looking pretty, but it was very good at that. And besides, she was the type of person who liked to always look her best.

Plus it meant that Noah was distracted by the sight of her for a bit which made her all other sorts of happy.

Eventually, he shook his head and smiled at her.

“We should go out, celebrate.”

Sam nodded, “We could go out to Governor’s Pub. It’s karaoke night and…”

Noah shook his head, “No, I was thinking something more intimate. How about dinner at D’Angelo’s.”

Sam blinked, uncertain of how to respond. D’Angelo’s was a candle lit, quiet, romantic restaurant. The type of place couples went to, not… Her brain twitched and for a second she found her mind divided on this suggestion.

One one hand there was the old baked in disdain of nerds, the desire to leave this place, and thought that her interactions with Noah were only for her benefit, so she could get the hell out of this town. Again. Going to D’Angelo’s was unacceptable, especially given the social capital it would cost her.

On the other hand, Noah looked hot. And further, she found herself wanting to agree with Noah. Both of those combined made it very hard for her to say no to going to D’Angelo’s. Noah wasn’t quite boyfriend material, but he was close enough that she hadn’t felt over guilty over how her fantasies had gone last night. She had almost found it weird, especially in this moment where the old thoughts clashed with the new, but easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside.

She didn’t even notice Noah reach over with a look of pure concern on his face. “Hey hey hey hey hey, Sam. Look at me.”

That Sam could do. And the more she looked at him, the less she thought about how he was a nerd and the more she thought that Noah looked hot.

Still.

“I’m sorry,” she said, briefly wondering why she felt the need to apologize. “I, just. I just don’t think I’m ready for a… dinner at D’Angelos. That’s a super serious location and people…”

“Shhh,” Noah said, stroking her arm soothingly. “Shhhh, you’re right. That’s my fault. I tried to take things too far, too fast.”

Both halves of her brain were happy with this. The old part with her superiority to the nerd affirmed by him taking the blame and the new part no longer upset with going against her wanting to agree with Noah. The split in her mind started to fade and she could think again. She smiled and then realized something was wrong. Quietly, she touched her nose and found it was bleeding.

“Oh fuck,” she said, sprinting to the bathroom. Paper towels were grabbed and wadded, and the bleeding quite swiftly stopped.

And when it was done, unconsciously, she looked in the mirror and found that she looked like a mess. Her mascara was slightly runny like she had been crying and her lipstick was marred by blood and her rapid attempts to stop it. It upset her, knowing that her makeup was ruined. Partly because it meant that everyone would know that something had happened to her, but mostly because she was the type of person who liked to always look her best.

She fumbled for her purse, but realized she must have left it at the study table. There was a brief argument about which was more in line with what was closer to looking her best: Partially ruined makeup or no makeup, but it was a relatively easy call. With careful and deliberate motions, she took as much of the makeup off as she could. Paper towels and water weren’t the best for that, but she made do. And when she got as much off as she could, she smiled at the mirror and made her way out of the bathroom. It bothered her, not looking her best. She was the type of person who liked to always look her best. It was a core part of who she was, had been… well she couldn’t since when. That might have concerned her, but then she saw Noah again and she easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside.

Noah wasn’t working hard on a sheet of paper, some chemical structure she didn’t recognize. Far too many molecules and free radicals for anything she might’ve learned for the test, but given that a month ago she wouldn’t have even been able to say that, she would take it.

“Is that for Dr. Kreutzer?” Sam asked.

Noah jumped, clearly startled. “Uh, no.” He stammered. It was cute how nervous he got sometimes. It should’ve been disgusting, but Noah looked hot. And hot people looked cute, not disgusting.

“It’s for my own project,” he said, nervously looking her over. “Look Sam, you should go home, spend the weekend resting. That nose bleed looked pretty bad.”

Sam found herself nodding. It made sense, and besides she found herself wanting to agree with Noah.

“We’ll meet up on Monday, and we can talk about… everything. Including where and what we’re going to do to celebrate.”

“Sounds great,” Sam said, starting to pack her things in. “See you Monday!”

Noah nodded, hastily shoving his things in his own bag before rushing out of the door. Sam had never seen Noah so flustered or hurried before. It was a bit odd. But easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside.

* * *

Sam bounced into chemistry Monday morning, bright perky and well rested. She had considered going out a few times, maybe into the city to visit a club, but instead had taken Noah’s advice and spent the entire weekend resting. It had done wonders for her body and energy.

“Hi Noah!” she said.

Noah, however, looked like he hadn’t slept at all over the weekend. He gave her a small smile.

“Hi Sam,” he said. “You okay? You looked pretty rough on Friday.”

“Yep. I just must’ve been thinking too hard or something,” Sam joked. Noah smiled weakly and nodded, but didn’t seem to find it funny for some reason. Maybe that was because she was actually spending her time thinking these days. Resting over the weekend had left her a bit bored and to her own surprise that meant sitting down with the novels for her English class and reading them front to back. All four of them that they were expected to read for the quarter. Sam had never been much of a reader, but ever since she started at the Community College… Well ever since she started her tutoring with Noah if she was being really honest, she had discovered a ion, and ability, for learning that she had never had before. Not that she’d ever it that and risk being labeled a nerd herself, but it was a … pleasant surprise.

“How about you,” Sam asked as she sat down next to Noah. “You look pretty rough today.”

He nodded, “Didn’t sleep much. Spent most of it working on my chemical project.”

Sam nodded slowly, vaguely ing the thing Noah had been drawing on Friday. “Must be a pretty important project for you to cram so much work on it. But you should space it out. Weren’t you the one who told me about how gradual studying was far better than cramming.”

Noah nodded again, a faint smile on his face. “It is. But this was a special case. Some issues came up in testing that needed to be worked out.”

“Issues?” Sam asked. A thought was starting to form, a worry to be more precise. Something about her nose bleed and Noah’s reaction to it. But then Dr. Kreutzer walked in and easily, almost too easily it was brushed away.

* * *

It was Tuesday before Sam and Noah got a chance to get together for their afternoon study session. Noah had begged off Monday citing tiredness, leaving Sam with some free time she promptly spent at the mall. She had always loved shopping, a given with how she was the type of person who liked to always look her best, but this time she had a focus. Friday had shown her that her best was too easily disrupted. Better, less water susceptible, make up would be required. She hadn’t found anything that would handle water and bloody noses any better than the stuff she was already using, but the girl at the counter had suggested permanent makeup. Sam had never thought of it before, and certainly didn’t have the spare cash right now with how tight Daddy was being with the credit cards, but she filed that information away for later.

Noah looked much better with a good night’s sleep in him and was once again back to his dorkily endearing self. The study session had gone really well, Sam had actually ended up explaining some of yesterday’s lecture to Noah since he had been so tired. She got the impression it was more about checking her understanding, but the fact she had not only understood it in the first place but retained it well enough to explain it, without her notes even!, was huge.

“I’m impressed,” Noah confessed. “You’ve certainly come a long way in the past month.”

“Right? I don’t know why, but there’s something about being home, being around here that just makes it… easier? Easier. To learn that is. No idea what it is though, it wasn’t like this in high school.”

Noah’s smile widened, “Maybe it’s just the people you’re with.”

Sam gave him a shrug, “Maybe. Dr. Kreutzer is a much better of a teacher than Mr. Horrell ever was, but that can’t be all of it. Maybe I’m different?”

Noah’s eyes widened this time, but before Sam could consider this he spoke up, “Whatever it is, we still haven’t gone out and celebrated your success on Friday.”

Sam nodded, slightly unhappy with even the barest reference to the… discomfort that had been Friday. “Right, well… we were… discussing? I don’t really actually.”

Noah nodded, his eyes sympathetic. “Yeah, you looked pretty messed up. I have some ideas if you’re interested.”

Sam numbly nodded. Her head was hurting again. Something was… wrong.

“Here,” Noah said, just breathe in. And then he took his spray bottle and sprayed her in the face. And then Sam wasn’t thinking much at all.

* * *

Sam yawned and straightened as she sat up and gently shook her head.

“Hey sleepy head,” Noah said. “Welcome back”

Sam smiled and looked around, they were still in the library and they had been talking about… something. She felt her lips purse in confusion.

Noah smiled at her and she instinctively smiled back. “I stepped out to get a drink and when I came back, you were ed out on your backpack. Guess last night wasn’t as restful as the weekend?” he said.

Sam went to shake her head, but instead found herself nodding along as she wanted to agree with Noah.

“We’ve covered all the material, so perhaps we should end it early today,” Noah suggested.

A bolt of panic ran through Sam. Leave Noah? No, that… that wasn’t okay. She wanted to be around him. She enjoyed spending time with him. She needed to figure out a way to keep him around her. Some way to keep him here. It had been so much easier when she was bad at science, but now she needed something else.

Well, he was a nerd. An extremely hot nerd, but still a nerd. He had to have some hobbies or interests that she could get him talking about. Her mind ran through everything she knew about Noah, a depressingly small amount she hated to realize looking for another topic, before she ed that Comic Con was coming up. She had no idea where she had heard about that, but it was something she definitely knew was nerdy.

As calmly as she could, she nodded, and went to start packing. “I guess,” she said, slowly stacking her supplies to stall for time. “Oh, hey. I saw that there’s that… comic thingy soon. Are you going?”

“Comic Con?” Noah skeptically asked. “Yeah, I plan on it. Why?”

Sam gave her best disaffected shrug, “Oh, just trying to make small talk. What even happens at ComicCon.”

“Oh,” Noah said, his eyes lighting up, “There’s a whole bunch. A bunch of s with sci-fi actors and comic writers, anime screening, writing seminars, magic tourneys, exhibitors selling things, and most importantly the cosplay!”

“Cosplay,” Sam asked, deliberately stopping.

“Yeah,” Noah nodded, “People dres as popular characters to show off their fandom. I’ve got a few ideas for my cosplays, but they’re all going to be easy things. Dresden and Vash, just a trench coat and some style. Not that many people expect much out of guys.”

Sam blinked, “Wait. Girls do that too?”

“Oh, yeah! There are plenty of female fans. Plus, there are some pretty famous streamers and models who make their living doing mostly cosplay. Nigri, Katz, or Oaks are all women who either started in or make most of their money via cosplay.

Despite herself, Sam found herself interested. Modeling, but a type she might actually be able to do? That might be an option that Daddy would go for.

“Can you tell me more?”

Noah paused, “I’ve got some photos from last year’s Comic Con. Do you want to see?”

Sam nodded and leaned in, shoulder to shoulder, with Noah and watched as he pulled up some images on his laptop.

They were mostly of women. Specifically, scantily clad women. There was a part of her that was disgusted with how blatantly Noah had been eyeing these women, but in every picture the woman was clearly facing the camera and posing, which Sam supposed was kinda like consent so perhaps she shouldn’t judge that quickly. Besides, her disgust and thoughts about the photos were very quickly set aside by a new feeling.

Jealousy.

Noah was staring at these women and talking about them in a way that Sam desperately wanted him to talk about and look at her. So while Noah rambled on about how cosplayers typically handmade their own outfits and other such details, Sam was making her own list focused on two things: The titles Noah named so she could look into them later and commonalities in the outfits that he showed her on screen.

That night Sam spent the night studying. She bought an anime streaming hip and binged twelve episodes of ‘Spying Family’. She was pretty sure there were plenty of things she was missing, but she could see how dres as the badass female assassin would appeal to someone.

And when she finished those episodes, she then went to youtube and spent the rest of the night watching videos about sewing and cosplay. She didn’t have any needle or thread, yet, but that didn’t matter. She was confident that everything she learned about tonight would stick with her.

* * *

On Wednesday, they briefly reviewed chemistry and then spent the study session discussing comics. Sam had started thinking some pretty negative things about how they portrayed women, but walked away from the meeting wanting to read comics and looking for inspiration on how to dress. Noah hadn’t directly said it, but Sam was pretty sure Black Kitten and Shulk took a similar part in his fantasies as Jason Mamoa had in hers. Which meant that she wanted to know everything about them she could get her hands on. When she ran out of easily accessible information on those characters, she went and looked into some professional cosplays featuring those characters. Which had led her to some of the more, well nude, cosplays. She hadn’t lingered on those long, too embarrassed, but the images like everything else she had been learning recently stayed with her.

Thursday they didn’t even make it to the library. Instead, Noah had taken her back to his house and they had curled up on the couch while he introduced her to the wonderful world of video games. There was something oddly intimate and deeply soothing about curling up with a guy on the couch, watching him play video games and talk about the plot. Sammight have to get her own console if it was half as relaxing to play as it was to watch playing. She was also completely unsurprised to see that most of the characters on screen were female. Noah might have tried to justify it if Sam hadn’t cut it off. She knew who he was and she didn’t fault him for it. Besides, watching him play and where his camera lingered told her a lot about what he liked. In many ways, it was almost like Noah was teaching her about him. Which, to be honest, was rapidly growing to be her favorite topic.

And then it was Friday.

* * *

Sam blinked and then looked at where she had been laying. On Noah’s shoulder. Weird, she hadn’t even ed cozying up to him. Maybe the week had taken more out of her than she had thought.

“How long was I out for,” she said, stifling a yawn.

“Only a half-hour or so. But you should get going. It’s almost five.”

“Get going?” Sam said, confused. There was a fog in her brain and it wasn’t clearing quickly.

“You have to get ready,” Noah gently prompted her. “For our date.”

“Date?” she asked sleepily, before snapping to attention! Right, their date! She had promised to go on a date with Noah if she had ed the test. It hadn’t seemed likely originally, given, well her entire academic career but he had done it. And while she might’ve normally turned him down, she had agreed to this deal and Daddy had always told her it was important to follow through on those. Plus, Noah looked hot. Which meant while she might not normally date a nerd like him, it wouldn’t be a problem to be seen in public with him. He was hot, and that made it acceptable to be with him. More so, it made it acceptable to be attracted to him.

Because holy shit, was she attracted to him. She hadn’t been fully aware and accepting of how attracted she was until now, but she could feel the low level horniness that she always felt around Noah making itself known. The gradual soaking of her panties, the hardening of her nipples, the steady increase of her heart rate. All of it.

Fuck, did he know? She simultaneously hoped he did and didn’t know. Thank god for the pushup bra she was wearing. It had enough padding that there weren’t little nubs poking out of her shirt front. Granted, if she hung around much longer, there might be more obvious signs. Like her hand down his pants. When had her hand gotten on his leg? Shit, it was so close.

She sharply pulled her hand back and gave him a sheepish smile.

He smiled warmly back at her and she melted a bit inside.

“I’ll see you at 7:30?”

7:30, that meant she had two and a half hours to get home and get ready. If she hurried, it just might be enough time. She nodded, not quite trusting herself to speak before quickly grabbing her bags and walking out of there. Halfway to the door she ed that she was the type of person who liked to always look her best and slowed to walk. And then she ed that Noah might be watching and slowed even further to a saunter, making sure he got a good look at her ass all the way to the door.

* * *

It was 7:29 when Sam made it down the stairs and was impatiently waiting at the door. Her step-mom walked by and gave her an approving once over. It made Sam slightly uncomfortable. But she pushed that aside. She was the type of person who liked to always look her best and if her step-mother was willing to check her out, then she definitely looked her best.

“Hot date?” her step-mother asked.

Sam nodded quickly before returning her attention to the door.

“Have fun!”

Sam didn’t pay attention, turning her attention to the door, nervously awaiting Noah’s arrival.

She didn’t have to wait long. At 7:30 on the dot, the doorbell rang and Sam pulled the door open before the first ring had finished. She wanted to see Noah, and more relevantly she wanted to see how he responded to her.

He didn’t even get a word out, his jaw just dropped and Sam felt a rush of accomplishment. It felt good when she made Noah happy. All the work she had done had been well worth it.

Part of her work upon getting home was trying to go through all the data she had collected over the past week to figure out what would best appeal to Noah. It had required some creative thinking on her part, but between the media they had gone through together and looking at the people he followed on the various social media platforms, she thought she had a fairly good idea of what he liked. She hadn’t had all of it, the corsets would require custom ordering, but she had enough that she came close.

Her hair was blown out and back, with her long locks split between cascading down her back and spilling over her bare shoulders. Her face was done up with a subtle touch of makeup, done to accentuate the sharpness of her eyes and give them a half-hooded look which directly contrasted with the cherry red lipstick she had put on. It had been a gift from step-mom number two and Sam had always thought of it as cocksucker red, which is why it had been buried in the back of her makeup box and perfect for tonight. Sam might not have enjoyed sucking cock, but she definitely was willing to suck Noahs.

Whatever it took. She felt good when she made Noah happy.

On her neck was a tight black choker with a ring positioned on the front. It wasn’t anywhere near sturdy enough to be anything like the collars she had seen on so many of his posts or the cosplays she had seen, but it was visually close enough that it would do. Plus, as long as she didn’t fight him, he would still be able to pull her around with it.

To be honest those photos had started some new thoughts in Sam that she’d have to explore later. Before Wednesday she had never associated herself with the words ‘bisexual’ or ‘submissive’, but after seeing all those girls dolled up and collared up, she would certainly have to do some research. Lots of research involving late nights and a vibrator probably. And, hopefully, some with Noah too. She didn’t really have a preference or interest in being on top or on bottom, but now she had some very vivid fantasies about calling Noah ‘Master’ and throwing her around that she wanted to see if they were half as good as they sounded.

Outside of her hair though, her shoulders were bare, as was most of her cleavage, which was quite excellently on display between her strapless dress and equally strapless pushup bra. She had actually taken some of the padding out of this bra after noticing how many pictures Noah had liked with girls having their nipples poke through tight shirts.

The dress was short, barely an inch below her ass and hugging it the entire time, which had necessitated a thong. Sam had decided to go a step farther and put on a g-string and pulled it up so that it was high on her hips and would be teasing her all night.

It should have been painful, a quiet and fading part of her thought, but between her newly discovered interests and her deep attraction to Noah, that was easily, almost too easily, brushed that aside.

But the part that had Sam the happiest was how much Noah was looking at her legs. Sam had to steal the fishnets from her step-mom, but they hugged her legs tightly enough that she was just going to have to keep them. Especially given how Sam was looking at them. Or maybe it was the heels. She had mostly been sticking to low flats and wedges, but tonight was special and as such she had broken out the platform stilettos that had been part of her sororities Halloween outfits last year. They had been a bit of trouble to walk in on Halloween, but it only took her a few minutes of practice to learn how to get it right this time.

“Wow,” Noah said. “You look great.”

“Thank you,” Sam said, fighting a blush.

“No, you don’t understand. I think this is the best you’ve ever looked.”

Oh? OH! Sam could almost feel her brain making new connections. Sam was the type of person who liked to always look her best and if this was the best she ever looked, well then she should dress like this always. She suddenly looked back on the summer dresses and wedges she had worn as not good enough and resolved to spend Saturday finding as many mini-dresses, towering heels, and leg stockings as she could. Noah had called this her best!

“Sam?”

She shook herself back to the present. “Yes?”

“Ready to go?”

She nodded and let herself be whisked off to the car and then to D’Angelo’s. It was exactly as romantic as she had thought it would be.

* * *

Sam was giggling as they pulled back up her house. They had spent nearly four hours there between eating, talking about Sam’s newest anime addiction, and flirting. It was only after Sam had all but crawled under the table to pick up a dropped fork and then wanted to stay there that she had insisted they leave.

“I had a great time,” Sam said. “I wish this didn’t have to end.”

“I could come in,” Noah suggested.

Sam giggled, “No, Daddy’s going to be home by now.”

“I know,” Noah said, before leaning in. Her breath caught, and then he kissed her and fireworks went off in her mind and she melted into him. By the time he stopped, she was limp in the seat. He gave her a winning smile and she felt herself fall a bit farther.

“Oh…”

“Exactly,” Noah agreed. “If we’re going to keep going out like this, kissing like that, then I’ll have to meet him eventually.”

Something about Noah and her father meeting was a problem, but Sam could not think of what it might be through the blissful haze his kiss had left her in. “Oh-kay,” she said. “Let’s go talk to Daddy.”

Noah was around to her side of the car in a flash and offered her a hand up. She gave him a winsome smile and her best panty flash as she took his hand and climbed up. Leaning heavily on him, drunker on his presence than she had ever been in college, they made their way to the door. It was unlocked, thankfully, since Sam was pretty confident she couldn’t work a zipper, let alone a key right now, and the two of them let themselves into the house. From the living room deeper in, she could hear the TV.

“Daddy!” Sam yelled, “I’m home! And I have someone I want you to meet.”

The TV muted and there was a soft padding as her father made his way out to them, a look of curiosity plain on his face. Behind him, step-mom three trailed behind like the puppy she was.

“Is this him,” she excitedly asked.

“Him?” her father repeated.

“Yep!” Sam declared. “Daddy, Erin, meet Noah Gibson. By boyfriend!”

“Hopeful boyfriend,” Noah quickly clarified, extending his hand to Sam’s father. “With your blessing of course Mr. Norcross.”

Daddy’s eyes turned curious. “Gibson? Are you Danny Gibson’s son?”

“I am,” Noah confirmed. “And I have a business proposition for you Mr. Norcross.”

“Oh?” Sam’s father said, cocking his eyebrow.

“My father’s project? I got it to work.”

Sam watched her father’s face go through a flurry of emotions she didn’t know was possible for him. He was normally so stoic and calm.

“Step into my office,” he eventually said.

* * *

Sam and Noah sat on one side of the desk while her father sat on the other.

“Explain,” was all her father said.

“Quite simply, the problem was with the binding agent. It was too aggressive in what it did and that’s what was causing the brain damage. By combining the spray with a stabilizing compound and adding some mild steroids to increase uptake, the compound works. Once calibrated to a person’s DNA and the spray is breathed in, neuroplasticity is dramatically increased.”

“Duration?”

Sam wasn’t sure what was going on, but Noah gave her a comforting squeeze and a silent look, so she sat back and listened.

Noah continued, “From personal experience, even if a single dose is taken and then never used again, information gained while under the effects of that first dose is retained for at least ten years. We’ve also seen that repeated exposure not only increases the rate that information is taken in at, but also drastically increases the rate at which information is connected together.”

“Side effects?”

“Mostly dealt with. The trials I’ve done with your daughter…”

“The what!” Sam said.

Noah turned and gave her a surprised look. “How did you think that you learned so much so quickly? I’m good, but I’m not that good.”

“You drugged…” she started.

Noah sighed, “Sam, Command: Freeze”

Sam locked up and felt herself stuck in place. She couldn’t even move her eyes and worse her father didn’t look angry or disgusted. He looked impressed.

“As I was saying,” Noah continued with a shake of his head, “Side effects have largely been dealt with. There are some methodology issues that will need to be noted: Mainly teaching existing information that contradicts existing knowledge can cause potential damage. I’ve got some methodology to work around it, but it should be less necessary with the most recent formula.”

“Daddy,” Sam tried to say, but her mouth didn’t move.

Her father reached into the desk and pulled out a pair of glasses and a bottle of whisky from his desk. “And the command?”

Noah smirked, “A happy accident. During the first few minutes after exposure, the brain takes in and learns all information. And if someone happens to be taught ‘You will immediately follow any order I give you starting with Sam: Command, well then that’s just a fact of who they are now.”

Sam felt herself panicking. Is that what had happened to her? Noah used this spray to teach her chemistry, to… to like him? What else had she learned? And why wasn’t her father doing something about it?!?

Instead, her father leaned back. “By all rights,” he said, “I should be angry at you.”

“But you’re not,” Noah confidently said.

“No,” he slowly said, “I’m not. What do you want Mr. Gibson?”

“A research position at Norcross Industries, head of my own department. Once I get my diploma this winter, start me at 300k a year with all of the benefits and bonuses. And in exchange you get the formula.”

Sam’s father nodded, “It’s a bit dangerous as is. I’d never risk using the spray on myself. 220k.”

“250,” Noah quickly rebutted, “And when I manage to split it into two separate compounds, one for learning and one for, uh, teaching, you raise me to 300.”

Her father gave Sam a once over and she tried to beg as hard as she could with her eyes not to leave her like this. Then, with a sigh he stood. “You have yourself a deal...”

Sam internally screamed, but no noise escaped her lips.

“Thank you Sir,” Noah said before motioning to Sam, “And what about her?”

Her father sighed and she could see the disappointment in his eyes.

“If it was any of my other children, I’d want everything undone and her back to the way it was.”

“But,” Noah prompted.

“But,” her father agreed. “I had already written her off. I’ll tell you what, if you start making doses for my wife and my secretary this weekend, we’ll call Sam here a g bonus.”

“No!” Sam internally screamed, “No! You can’t do this to me! No!”

Noah’s eyes shot up in surprise. “You have a deal sir.”

Sam’s fingers wouldn’t move, her mouth couldn’t move. She was stuck, frozen, while the two men in her life treated her like… cattle. She wanted to scream, cry, something, but she just couldn’t.

“She’s heard everything,” her father said. “Will that be a problem?”

“No,” Noah said, sitting down. “Just sit down and follow my lead. Sam, Command: Forget everything, including commands, since we sat down in this office.”

Sam’s mind pulsed, her brain spasmed, and then the white came and started obliterating…

Sam blinked and then looked around the room.

“Oh, thank you sir,” Noah said. “Thank you. I promise I’ll treat your daughter right.”

A strange look ed her father’s face, but it was cast aside as Noah and him shook hands. Sam didn’t quite how they got here, but clearly Noah and Daddy’s introduction had gone well.

“You two love birds can use the guest house,” Daddy said. “We’ll talk more in the morning.”

Sam blinked, did her…

“Come on honey,” Noah said, offering a hand, “Let’s get out of your father’s hair.”

She took his hand and walked after him.

“Did?” she started.

“Yes. He heartily approves of our relationship. I think he wants us to get married.”

“Married?” Sam asked, “That doesn’t sound like my Daddy.”

Noah shrugged, “He was really impressed with me.”

There was something wrong with that, but Sam easily, almost too easily brushed it aside and instead focused on the moment. She was horny, exceedingly horny. Had been since dinner. And while she didn’t put out on the first date normally, she was certainly going to break that rule in two for Noah. He was just so… mmm.

“Guest house,” she said with a giggle, “It’s been forever since I’ve had a boy in there.”

Noah looked at her and she gave him her best innocent look. He clearly didn’t buy it, but definitely picked up the pace.

They weren’t even through the door before they crashed into each other and started kissing. It was difficult, staying lipped locked as they staggered through the house towards the bedroom, especially with Sam’s heels, but she got the hang of it quick enough. When they finally made it into the bedroom, she gave Noah a little push which ended with him sitting on the edge of the bed.

“I hope you’re ready,” Sam said with her best sultry smile, “Because I’ve been itching to do this all evening.”

And then, with practiced grace, she kneeled at the edge of the bed and slowly unbuttoned his pants, gradually pulled them down, and let his dick spring free. It was gorgeous and Sam sat transfixed for just a moment staring at it. Learning, memorizing, its appearance. And then she parted her lips and slid them over the tip, slowly sliding her way to the base and making sure to learn what every ridge, vein, and bump felt like with her tongue. Noah stirred and moaned above her and she made a particular note of where she had touched to get that reaction. It might only be the first night together, but Sam was determined to be the most diligent student of Noah’s body possible.

It was weird to think that way, but it was the truth. She really had become a very diligent student.
