ENEMIES ENTRANCED
By Mr Mutual
Synopsis: Two enemies are pressured to explore mutual hypnosis together.
For as long as they could , Carol and Kirk had been rivals in every sense of the word. They were both renowned hypnotherapists, leaders in their respective fields, but their methods couldn’t have been more different. Carol was methodical and precise, believing in the clinical, step-by-step approach to hypnosis. To her, hypnosis was a science, an intricate web of psychological steps that, when followed perfectly, yielded predictable results. She used structured language, precise tones, and measured techniques, priding herself on her ability to control every aspect of a session.
Kirk, on the other hand, was all intuition and flow. He believed that hypnosis was an art, something that required sensitivity to his clients’ energy, an ability to connect on a deep, almost primal level with the subconscious. His sessions were fluid, unpredictable, and often esoteric, drawing on what he called “the energy of the moment.” He scoffed at Carol’s rigid methodologies, calling them restrictive and unimaginative. To him, she was cold and clinical, reducing the power of hypnosis to little more than a mechanical exercise.
Their rivalry was legendary. They had clashed at various conferences over the years, exchanging barbs with palpable disdain for one another. Their arguments were always heated, with each convinced that their approach was superior. And yet, despite their mutual hatred, there was an odd magnetism between them. Colleagues and peers would often joke that their fiery clashes hinted at something deeper, but neither Kirk nor Carol would ever have itted it. As far as they were concerned, they couldn’t stand each other.
Everything changed at the annual International Hypnotherapy Conference.
The conference was a grand affair, with hundreds of hypnotherapists from around the world gathering to share insights, techniques, and research. Carol and Kirk had been invited as keynote speakers, much to each other’s annoyance. They managed to avoid direct for the first two days, giving their lectures, leading workshops, and steering clear of one another. But as the conference continued, fate (or, rather, the organizers) intervened.
The third-day event was a live demonstration of various hypnotic techniques, supposedly with volunteers from the audience. But things took a surprising turn when the organizers announced that they had decided invite two noted experts to demonstrate mutual, simultaneous hypnosis. To Carol and Kirk’s horror, the called them up together.
The tension in the room was palpable as they stood on stage glaring at each other. They were both extremely attractive, but their appearances could not have been more contrasting. Carol, dressed in a sleek, professional suit, looked every bit the clinical, no-nonsense therapist. Her auburn hair was pulled back in a neat bun, and her sharp green eyes regarded Kirk with a mix of irritation and disdain. Kirk, by contrast, was dressed casually, his disheveled brown hair and open collar giving him the look of someone who cared little for convention—or for Carol. His deep blue eyes twinkled with casual irreverence, though there was a fire beneath the surface.
The crowd watched with rapt attention as the explained the setup. “Carol and Kirk,” she began, “please simultaneously hypnotize each other using your own unique methods. Let’s see how your contrasting approaches will interact—or clash.” The mischief in her voice was all too obvious to Carol and Kirk. They were being set up, and they knew it.
The two hypnotherapists exchanged a look of mutual irritation. Neither wanted to be here, but backing down wasn’t an option. Their reputations were on the line, and neither was willing to be labeled a coward.
For Kirk, the proposal sounded absurd, and yet, there was something intriguing about it. The free spirit in him was curious, even if he hated to it it. Carol, too, felt scientific curiosity about mutual hypnosis and a clash of techniques, though she would never acknowledge it in front of Kirk.
Kirk sighed. “Fine. I’ll do it. But don’t expect me to change my mind about your methods.”
Carol smirked. “I wouldn’t dream of it.”
“Shall we begin?” Carol continued, her voice icy and controlled. “I owe it to my colleagues to give this a fair chance.”
Kirk smirked in turn. “I do, too. Why don’t you begin.” His tone was mocking, as if daring her to take control.
“Gaze deeply into my eyes,” Carol began, attempting to take control.
They stood about four feet apart, and their eyes locked into a gaze that was as much about defiance as it was about hypnosis. Carol took a deep breath, centering herself, and her voice dropped into the smooth, measured cadence for which she was known.
“Focus on my words, Kirk,” she said, her voice slow and precise. “Relax your mind. Feel yourself drifting deep, deep into the sound of my voice. As you listen, feel the tension leaving your body, your mind slowing, quieting, sinking...”
But as she spoke, Kirk began to counter with his own method. His voice was soft, flowing, almost musical, cutting through her rigid control like surf eroding a cliff.
“Carol, let go of the need to control. Feel the energy between us, let it guide you. Don’t force the process, just surrender to it. Let the moment take you where it will.”
They spoke over each other at first, their methods clashing, neither willing to submit. Carol’s voice was sharp, precise, calculated, while Kirk’s was fluid, unpredictable, seductive. But as they continued, something strange began to happen. Their techniques began to complement each other, and their minds began to respond in unexpected ways.
As Carol tried to impose her structure, she found herself swept into the fluidity of Kirk’s voice, her rigid control softening despite herself. She responded to the soft, sensual pull of his words, the way they artfully danced around her own, subtly enticing her into a deeper, more intuitive state. At the same time, Kirk, who was used to letting the moment carry him, responded to the precision of Carol’s words, guiding him down a clearly marked path into a trance in a way he hadn’t anticipated. Their starkly opposed inductions were having a powerful effect on each other.
Their voices began to synchronize. Carol’s structured approach gave Kirk’s fluidity a concrete form, while Kirk’s spontaneity softened Carol’s rigidity. Their resistances and inhibitions were crumbling, and as they crumbled, they became increasingly receptive to each other’s induction. In addition, because of their effective inductions on each other, they were also becoming affected by their own inductions, which had never happened to them before.
Each of them had been hypnotized as part of their hypnotherapy training, but their resulting trances had not been particularly deep. Now, however, with their opposing induction methods strongly affecting each other, and with their own inductions increasingly affecting themselves, this complementary combination was sending them into a much deeper trance than they had ever thought possible. They were sinking into a deep hypnotic trance together, as one, which had two immediate effects: First, each felt a surge of relief and pleasure as their inhibitions crumbled and their true selves emerged; Second, the release of their inhibitions caused each to see the other more accurately, stripped of prejudices.
As their mutual trance engendered heightened perceptions, they began to see each other in ways they never had before. Carol, who had always viewed Kirk as overly emotional and irrational, now glimpsed the depth of his comion, the fierce intelligence that fueled his unconventional methods. Knowing something of his background, she also saw the pain he carried, the struggles he had overcome with pretended indifference, and she felt a surge of empathy for his resilience.
Kirk, in turn, now saw beyond Carol’s seemingly rigid exterior. Knowing something of her background, he saw the quiet loneliness that had shaped her and the vulnerability she hid behind her logic and precision. He realized that her detachment was a defense mechanism, a way to protect herself from a world that had often been harsh and unforgiving. And in that moment, he felt profound empathy for her.
Their breathing had now completely synchronized. Their eyes stayed locked together in a gaze so intense that they seemed to be peering into each other’s souls. But the intensity between them, their apparent hatred, had completely transformed. The intensity was as strong as ever, but now it was pleasurable and arousing. Instead of clashing inductions, they began to speak together as one.
“Our inhibitions are crumbling,” whispered Kirk, releasing a flood of emotion in them both.
“Our inhibitions have crumbled,” Carol murmured, as she blissfully surrendered to her trance. “We are falling so deep together, but we can still speak and convey our thoughts and desires to each other. Our repressed selves are emerging.”
“We have fallen so deep together,” Kirk acknowledged, blissfully surrendering in turn. “Our repressed selves have emerged.”
“Deeper and deeper,” they murmured in unison. “So deep together. So beautiful.”
The world around them grew fuzzy and then disappeared entirely, leaving Carol and Kirk focused solely on each other. They had fallen into such a deep hypnotic trance that they were now completely oblivious to the stage they were on and to the audience in front of them.
Floating in the deepest of all possible trances, their empathy and connection grew even stronger, and they were completely freed from their repressions. Intense love and respect for each other, repressed for so long, bubbled up from their unconsciousness. They also experienced a growing sexual attraction, a pull that neither had any inclination to resist.
Their sexual arousal began as a subtle awareness, a heightened sensitivity to each other’s emotions. As their love and connection deepened, their increasing sexual energy ricocheted back and forth between them in a loop, becoming irresistible. Their cheeks became flushed, their lips parted sensuously, as they were consumed with love and lust. They continued to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes and saw that the other was the most beautiful and attractive person that they had ever seen, or even imagined.
Kirk’s voice dropped into a seductive whisper, his words caressing Carol’s mind. “You feel it too, don’t you?” he whispered. “This intense attraction... it’s always been there, hidden underneath everything.”
Carol’s voice was breathless, also barely more than a whisper. “Yes... but I didn’t want to it it. I thought I hated you.”
“And now?”
“Silly me...” Carol gasped, her mind swirling with intensely pleasurable emotions, her body alive with a fire she hadn’t felt in years. “I can’t deny it anymore. I am consumed with love and lust for you.”
Their bodies fused together. They became intoxicated by inhaling each other’s breath. They closed their eyes and kissed.
Their kiss started soft and tentative, but the moment their lips touched, a further flood of emotion and desire surged through them. Their hands caressed each other’s bodies as their kiss deepened.
Their deep trance amplified every sensation, every touch. Their kiss grew more ionate, more urgent, feeding the hunger that had been simmering beneath the surface for so long. Their tongues danced together, and their love and lust kept building and building and building…
Until without warning, still fully clothed, a powerful orgasm simultaneously hit them both.
It wasn’t like any orgasm they had ever known. It wasn’t just physical. It was mental, emotional, spiritual. It was a full-body explosion of pleasure and ecstasy, so intense that they almost lost consciousness. They floated in each other’s arms, seemingly forever, immersed in a sea of dreamy bliss.
In real time, they floated together like that for only about fifteen seconds, but when they began to stir, they felt like they were waking from an interminable dream. They again gazed deeply into each other’s eyes, savoring the intensity of their connection. Carol and Kirk barely noticed their surroundings at first; they were still lost in each other, the outside world a distant thought. The audience had fallen into a hushed silence, watching in disbelief as the two most vehement rivals in hypnotherapy were wrapped in intimacy. What had begun as a tense, uncomfortable conflict had transformed into something beautiful, something that had left everyone in awe.
Holding hands, Kirk and Carol slowly turned and faced the audience. There was a moment of stunned silence, and then, slowly, applause began to build. It started as a few tentative claps, but soon it swelled into a thunderous ovation. The entire room was on its feet, applauding not just for the unique hypnotic demonstration but also for the transformation they had witnessed between these once-bitter rivals.
Carol and Kirk sheepishly acknowledged the applause. Acutely embarrassed but smiling like canary-eating cats, they bowed and fled the stage, whispering “I love you” to each other.
For the rest of the conference, they were inseparable. They gave a t lecture the next day, combining their methods in a way that left the audience in awe. Carol’s precision and Kirk’s flow blended seamlessly, creating a hypnotic experience that was both structured and free, controlled and wild. It was a perfect balance, just like their new relationship.
Carol and Kirk’s partnership blossomed both professionally and personally. They began working together, combining their methods into a groundbreaking new approach to hypnotherapy that revolutionized the field. More importantly, their love for each other was unshakable.
Years later, they would fondly look back on that conference as the moment that changed everything. They would recall the fiery hatred that had once defined their relationship and laugh at how wrong they had been about each other. Their frequent orgasms would henceforth be enjoyed in the nude with full penetration, sometimes in a mutual hypnotic trance and sometimes more “normal.” Every night, as they snuggled in bed together, they would drift into sleep knowing that their connection—born out of rivalry and misunderstanding, transformed by trance—was the most powerful and wonderful experience of their lives.
For Carol and Kirk, their mutual trance never really ended. They continued to be lost in each other, in a sense still hypnotized by the empathy and love that had united them. Deep love is a type of trance, after all. They were in a trance that would never end.
