The Astronauts
Stanley Chou floated gently in the cramped confines of the SpaceX Dragon capsule, the soft blue glow of the station’s night lighting filtering through the open hatch. At 6 feet tall he was fit and lean with the quiet confidence of someone who had once commanded a Virginia class submarine in the United States Navy though he still felt the boyish thrill every time he prepared for sleep in orbit. Six months on the International Space Station stretched ahead of him like an endless starfield, and tonight was his first full shift alone in the Dragon the sleek, private capsule that had ferried him up from Earth only days earlier.
He unrolled his sleep sack with practiced ease, the thin, quilted fabric designed to cradle the body in microgravity. The air inside of the capsule smelled faintly of recycled oxygen and warm electronics and Stanley peeled off his navy blue NASA jumpsuit stripping down to his boxers, muscles shifting under smooth skin as he stretched out. Stanley was the complete package, Annapolis Biochemistry major, Navy silent service veteran, and now one of NASA’s brightest young astronauts, he had earned this moment of quiet solitude among the stars.
Or so he thought.
A soft rustle at the hatch made him turn. Elena Karpva slipped inside like a shadow given form, her movements graceful and deliberate in the weightless environment. The chestnut haired Russian cosmonaut was 5′8″ of breathtaking contradiction, she had the elegant lines of a fashion model paired with the toned, powerful physique of a fitness athlete. Her skin glowed with the kind of healthy radiance that came from both genetics and ruthless discipline fully on display when she wore the standard station issue tank top and shorts, but on her they looked anything but standard the fabric hugging the gentle swell of her breasts, the subtle curve of her hips, and the long, sculpted lines of her legs. Elena had carefully avoided any cameras as she moved to avoid embarrassing questions from Mission Control and she had arrived at her destination.
Her visit to the station was intended to be a publicity stunt, a model turned cosmonaut, paraded by Roscosmos to capture hearts and headlines. Yet here she was, quietly competent in the lab, and fluent in the same biochemical protocols Stanley had studied for years. No one on the crew could deny her charm or her intellect.
“Stanley,” she said softly, her accent a warm caress around his name. “I saw the light. Thought perhaps you were still awake.”
He smiled, trying to ignore the way his pulse quickened. “Just getting ready for sleep. First night in the Dragon. You need something?”
Elena drifted closer, catching a handhold with effortless precision as her hazel eyes caught the dim light, sparkling with something far more dangerous than professional curiosity.
“An experiment, actually. I was thinking about the effects of microgravity on… human chemistry.” Her lips curved into a small, knowing smile. “We both have backgrounds in biochemistry. It seemed fitting to discuss it with you.”
Stanley chuckled, but the sound came out a little rougher than intended. Taboo warnings echoed faintly in the back of his mind old NASA protocols and prohibitions, international crew conduct rules, but in the silent vastness of space, those rules felt distant, almost theoretical. Especially when Elena looked at him dressed the way she was.
They talked and at first it the topics were safe, shared notes on protein crystallization in zero-g, the strange way fluids behaved without gravity’s pull, the way bodies adapted or didn’t. The conversation floated freely, drifting like their bodies in the capsule with Elena asking about his time commanding the submarine, about the weight of responsibility, about the loneliness of command. Stanley found himself opening up more than he meant to, drawn in by her genuine interest and the way her laughter seemed to vibrate through the small space…and the way her hair framed her very pretty face.
As the minutes stretched, he cleared his throat. “I should probably turn in. Early shift tomorrow.”
Elena’s hand brushed his arm, feather-light. “Must you? The station is quiet. Everyone else is asleep or on duty elsewhere.” She drifted nearer, close enough that he could smell the faint, clean scent of her skin, something floral and warm beneath the sterile station air. “I was hoping we could continue this… privately.”
Stanley’s breath caught. “Elena… this is…”
“Taboo?” She finished for him, her voice low and velvet. “Yes. But we are already so far from Earth’s rules. Up here, the only gravity is what we choose to feel.” Her fingers traced a slow path along his forearm. “And I choose to feel this.”
He should have pulled away. He should have cited regulations, reminded her of the cameras, the consequences. Instead, he found himself staring at the elegant line of her throat, the way her chestnut hair floated like a dark halo around her face.
Elena began her voice suddenly soft and melodic. “Imagine… a beautiful moth,” she whispered, her breath hot against his skin. “Strong and proud, with powerful wings shimmering in iridescent silver and deep velvet black. He flies on a warm, wonderful day, the sun kissing his wings, the breeze gentle and caressing. The world below is green and golden, full of life and freedom. He feels invincible, soaring higher and higher through the clear blue sky…”
Stanley smiled as her soft hand stroked his arm gently up and down and he found himself listening to her soothing voice and staring into her eyes.
“He flies freely… so freely… until he encounters something delicate and shimmering in the sunlight, a spider’s web. So intricate, so beautiful, strands of silver silk catching the light like threads of starlight. At first he barely notices… just a gentle brush against his wing, but the web is strong, it’s inescapable. The more he struggles, the more the silken threads tangle around him, binding his powerful wings, wrapping around his strong body…”
Elena’s lips found his before they trailed lower, kissing along his collarbone, her tongue flicking against his skin while her fingers continued their slow strokes along his arm. Stanley’s breathing grew ragged as his resistance began to fade into hazy pleasure.
“The moth struggles… oh, how he struggles. His strong wings beat so bravely against the web, however each movement only pulls him deeper. The silk is soft… so soft… yet it holds him tighter and tighter. His strength begins to ebb and he grows tired… so very, very tired… exhausted from the beautiful fight. His wings slow and his body relaxes against the inevitable. And then… he looks up.”
Her voice became even softer, more intimate, a velvet whisper that sank straight into his mind as she kissed him again, deeper her silken tongue caressing his.
“He sees her then the beautiful spider. Elegant and graceful, with long, slender legs and eyes that gleam like polished jewels. She moves slowly toward him, unhurried, confident. Her body is exquisite, curved and powerful, shimmering in the sunlight. The moth’s heart races… but he cannot look away. He is mesmerized by her beauty, by the gentle sway of her approach. For two weeks he struggles… or perhaps it only feels that way… time stretching like the silk itself. He fights with everything he has, but the web holds him fast. His body grows heavy with exhaustion and something warmer… something sweeter…”
Before he could form another protest, she leaned in and kissed him yet again, soft her lips once more warm and plush against his. Stanley’s hands found her waist instinctively, pulling her closer in the absence of gravity. The kiss deepened, slow and sensual, tongues brushing in a lazy dance that sent heat pooling low in his belly. Elena tasted like cherries and something indefinably sweet, and Elena continued her story.
“Finally… he feels the sting, a sharp, exquisite little pierce… right where it matters most. Warmth spreads from the sting… wonderful, golden warmth that floods every part of him. It melts the last of his resistance. His body surrenders completely. And then comes the most beautiful part… the wonderful warmth of being wrapped in her silk. Layer after layer of soft, shimmering silk cocooning him. Holding him safe. Keeping him warm. The silk is so gentle… so intimate… pressing against every inch of his body. He is safe now. Held. Owned. Floating in perfect, blissful surrender as the beautiful spider cuddles close around him…”
When she pulled back, her eyes were dark with intent. “You will not be sleeping alone tonight, Stanley Chou.”
She guided him toward the open sleep sack with gentle but insistent hands. In the confined space, their bodies brushed constantly, thighs, hips, chests, each sending sparks through him. Elena helped him slide inside the quilted cocoon first, then followed, sealing the sack around them with practiced ease. The fabric enveloped them both, creating an intimate, private world that floated freely in the Dragon capsule.
Inside the sack, the heat built quickly. Stanley’s heart hammered as Elena peeled away the last of his clothing, his boxers sliding down his legs and disappearing into a corner of the sack. She shed her own tank top and shorts with fluid grace, revealing the body he had tried so hard not to imagine, full, pert breasts with dusky nipples already tightened into peaks, a narrow waist flaring into shapely hips, and long legs that wrapped around him effortlessly in the zero-g.
“You’re so beautiful,” he murmured, voice hoarse.
Elena smiled, slow and predatory. “And you are caught, my handsome astronaut.” Her hand slid down his chest, nails grazing lightly over his skin. “A strong moth, flying so bravely through the dark… only to tangle yourself in my web.”
She kissed him again, deep, her body pressing flush against his. Skin on skin in microgravity felt impossibly intimate, no weight, just pure , every inch of her sliding against him. Stanley groaned softly as her hand wrapped around his hardening cock, stroking with slow, deliberate care. He was already achingly erect, throbbing under her touch. They well knew how fluids responded in space and she carefully slipped on a condom, there were some things that one simply did not want to inhale.
But Elena had more in mind than simple pleasure.
From a small pocket in her bra floating in the sleep sack she produced a tiny tube of lip gloss, clear and shimmering, with a faint medicinal scent. She applied it slowly to her lips, the gloss catching the faint light like liquid starlight. “A special formulation,” she whispered against his mouth. “Something my friends back home thought might be… useful in orbit.”
Stanley’s mind flickered with warning, but the thought dissolved as she kissed him again. The gloss tingled on his lips, warm and slightly numbing, spreading a lazy heat through his veins. She trailed kisses down his jaw, along the sensitive skin of his neck, each press of her lips leaving a faint, glistening trail. The sensation was exquisite pleasure laced with a growing, insidious weakness.
His limbs felt heavier, even in zero gravity, not paralyzed, but wonderfully, deliciously powerless. A deep relaxation seeped into his muscles, turning strength into surrender. Elena’s mouth continued its journey, kissing, licking, sucking gently at his pulse points until Stanley’s head swam with fogged bliss.
“Tell me about the Dragon,” she murmured against his throat, her voice a silken thread. “The access codes for the command interface… the override protocols…”
Stanley tried to resist. Some distant part of him knew this was wrong, he knew she was extracting secrets. But the pleasure was overwhelming, her body undulating slowly against his, her hand still stroking him in perfect rhythm with her kisses. Every time he hesitated, she kissed him deeper, the gloss working its magic, and the words spilled from him like honey.
He gave her everything she asked for, the encrypted command sequences, the backdoor access NASA had installed for emergencies, the precise way to disable the capsule’s telemetry so no one on the ground would know what was happening inside. Each confession was rewarded with another slow stroke, another kiss along his collarbone, another roll of her hips that pressed her slick heat against his thigh.
Elena listened intently, committing every detail to memory, all while her body moved against his in a sensual dance. She was the spider, wrapping him tighter in her silk with each kiss, each whispered question binding him further. Stanley floated in a haze of erotic surrender, his strong body trembling under her control. When she had everything she needed, Elena capped the gloss and set it aside. Her hands framed his face, hazel eyes locking onto his with hypnotic intensity.
“You’ve been so good for me,” she purred, voice low and affectionate. “My strong, brave moth. Now it’s time to rest.”
She kissed him one final time, slow, deep, and possessive. The lingering effects of the gloss pulled him deeper into drowsiness. Elena shifted, wrapping her long legs around his waist and her arms around his shoulders, cuddling him close in the confines of the sleep sack. Her breasts pressed softly against his chest, her heartbeat steady and calming against his.
“Sleep now, Stanley,” she whispered, nuzzling into his neck. “Float with me among the stars.”
The capsule drifted silently in orbit, the Earth a vast blue curve far below. Inside the sealed sleep sack, their bodies entwined, weightless and warm. Elena held him possessively, her fingers tracing lazy patterns on his back as his breathing slowed into the deep rhythm of sleep. She had caught him completely, tangled, stung, and wrapped in her silk.
Elena Karpva smiled into the darkness, already planning her next move, yes she had been asked to gather information, but she actually found herself liking this boy, he was fit, smart and handsome and Elena decided right there that she would not be returning home after splashdown…and she had plenty of time to bind Stanley to her…after all in space there was nowhere to run.
